A Guide For Better Results in Your Shape Fitness Evolved

Your Shape Fitness Evolved really made training video games take a professional turn in my opinion... and it is the first one that motivated me to go to the store and try one. Finally, I could get my hands on a training video game that provided a clean look and that really concentrated on training and results. I understand how a ton of training video game wanted to make training fun in the past and seem like an actual video game, but I was looking for a serious option to work out at home. Your Shape Fitness Evolved provides exactly that – it takes out anything that could be annoying in a training game and concentrates on giving you the most effective and enjoyable workout possible. I was also pretty hesitant concerning the expertise contained in other games, but the mention of "Men's Health" really did it for me. It is a knowledgeable reference I feel safe to confide my body to : ) So besides talking to you about my enthusiasm for the game, I'm here to provide you with a few tips to make the most out of this game. I've come to discover a few things with time and I thought the people on Xbox Forums could really benefit from them.

Go Directly in the Routines to Get the New and Harder Moves

While Your Shape Fitness Evolved encourages you to stick to a daily routine and to improve your body this way, many players will probably wonder how they can get their hands on new moves without having to go through a two hours workout. Well, it's true most people just change up their activity category when they want to switch things up. However, there's a way to do so by simply following these steps: go in "Personal Training" as usual and choose "Start Training!". However, instead of starting up your program as usual, go in the "Choose Session" option and there you will be able to access all the moves in the game, grouped in very small sessions of 3 or 4 moves. This way, you will be able to select the moves you really want to do and the ones that really make you sweat. After all, not everyone wants to do the step touch at every workout! On top of that, you will notice some sessions that are still locked. You will want to complete all previous sessions to unlock the next one and so on. This "Choose Session" is really awesome and allowed me to realize the true depth and power of this game, and I think you should use it too. By doing this you will obtain brand new moves to give an extra push to your body. Some of them are pretty advanced in the rhythm and effort they require, so read the indications carefully and incorporate these exercises gradually. Even a single new exercise could make you feel your workout on the next morning so save some for later!

Bring your Routines on the Go

Something a lot of Your Shape Fitness Evolved players forget is the fact that they can bring their routines on the go… without even bringing their Kinect with them. Indeed, the game is really good at making you imitate the trainer on screen so that you memorize the routine in no time. At some point, you should very well be able to accomplish an entire workout without even turning on your Xbox. Just don’t forget to take breaks that are just as small as in the game between your moves… it’s really easy to become too lazy and rest too much between each. The workouts in Your Shape Fitness Evolved were made to be intense and effective even if you train for a small amount of time, but if you choose to rest too much, you will lose a lot of value in your overall workout. If you have trouble memorizing your entire workout, you could always write the number of reps on a sheet, although I think that number will be engraved in your mind after a week or two with the same routine.

Use the Mini-Games Properly

Awww… the mini-games, even Your Shape Fitness Evolved couldn’t resist at including a few. They are called “Gym Games” in this game and they can be pretty effective at forcing you to give that extra push at the end of a workout. If you ever find yourself discouraged (mentally) in the middle of a workout, you can always use the mini-games to motivate you as they are more “fun” to play. Even if Fitness Evolved was meant to take you away from these games on which other titles rely so much, it still understands that anyone who likes video games can use a little fun sometimes. I found that punching blocks at the end of a workout was especially effective to get me to burn a few more calories before wrapping up my workout. Naturally, I don’t feel like launching a new session after an exhausting workout (of course!), but if I feel like I need to do a bit more to be satisfied for the day, I know that the gym games are waiting for me. I don’t take them especially seriously as far as the score goes – they are just extra calories to put on my workout sheet. So, be it as a reward at the end of your workout or as a way to burn extra calories don’t forget to use the mini-games!

In conclusion, Your Shape Fitness Evolved is a game that won't make you run out of training options if you use it correctly. Don't forget to use the mini-games correctly and to bring a few routines on the go so that you're never behind on your progress. If Fitness Evolved didn't work for you, give it a second shot because it has everything you do to succeed. And if you're just passing by this forum just to check this game out, you should really pick it up if you're serious about training and getting results.

Is this a good game for losing pregnancy weight? I am looking for one for after I have the baby in May, but I am really researching to make sure I get a good one for me specifically. The fitness level doesn't matter so much to me as knowing that I am doing the workouts correctly. Is this one on Kinect, and if not, will it be good for learning the correcy way to do the workouts? Are there any good workouts on the game specifically for post pregnancy, and if not, do you know of a different game that I should look at?

Thanks for this review. I've been steering clear of most of the training games so far because I didn't have much confidence in them. Your review of this one has changed my mind and I'm going to try it.
