My Xbox has been making some powerful fan noises for no reason. Is there a problem with it? Should I get it checked? Also, have you experienced these before?

I've never heard an out of the ordinary noises. Could be something stuck in your fan or just a dust build up. If you have compressed air spray a bit and see if that helps, otherwise you should get it checked out.

I can't hear any audible noise from mine in the same room. I have never put my head down next to it and I have a pretty good surround sound system. If it bothers you I would call Microsoft. Apparently they will send you another one and you send yours back. So you won't be without.

TomRalphio is most likely right.

Sometimes dust can build up on the fan, that would cause an unnecessary strain on it which might make it a little noisier.
I would not recommend using compressed air on the fan, as you most likely would have to open the console in order to do so, breaking the seal of warranty.

I'm sure it bothers you as it would me, so my advise is to contact support.

My Xbox doesn't make any awkward noises so it's something out of the ordinary. If it doesn't affect any game play or operation, I wouldn't worry about it too much. If it bothers you that much, I'd take it somewhere to get it looked at.

Could be a damage when they shipped it. Has it always been like this ever since you got it?

I agree, Best option take it where you got it.

After some heavy thought, I've come to the conclusion that it was my fan. I took it to a repair shop, they've replaced and now it doesn't make any sounds anymore.

Good to know you got it fixed. Yup, sometimes, the fan will act funny. Could be faulty, dusty or whatever. Still, good to know you got it fixed. Now you can play Dead Rising 3 with joy!

Well that's good at least. Hopefully it doesn't start up again.

A lot of my friends have been experiencing this. It seems that a lot of the products from my region have a malfunction...

Mine was making noises and it turned out to be dust build up in the fan. Easy to fix and took no time to do so.

It could have been better if microsoft could have fixed it for free.

Have you cleaned out the fan yet? One of the main reasons for fans making weird noises is because there is a lot of dust within the system. I bet if you clean out the system the noise will stop.

you may be hearing the power brick... it is always on.. and has a slight humm to it... if your "system" has a noise you would be the first one i have herd.. i would suggest to get a can of duster and try and blow out whatever may have gotten in the system. but really i have never herd of a noise directly from my system.. i leave it on streaming twitch most everynight.. have played it for 2 days straight along with just generally left it running for 5-10 days..

That could probably work for him. I did try a fan duster before, kinda lowered down the noise though it wasn't that noisy anyways.
