Frankly, I'm not a fan of this Windows 8 inspired dashboard which is present since the 360. The old 360 had a couple of dashboard overhauls so do you think that Microsoft is going to the same anytime soon? Right now, I feel that the Xbox One dashboard is a cluttered mess of advertisements.

I'm not a fan of any of Windows 8's User Interface. I know a lot of people/companies/designers are moving to the simple and flat design trend but I just don't like the feel Windows 8 has. I don't know if its too simple of what. I wouldn't mind seeing a change but I don't think that it will come any time soon.

If you're interested in what the future dashboard looks like then just follow what WIndows is developing for their operating system. There is a method to their madness, they create a UI that looks like their computer so you can move between laptop and gaming system without much trouble. Its just the way things are now a days and Windows 9 will probably be pretty similar. Might as well get use to a metro UI style dashboard.

I really don't think so, they are going all out into their metro interface.

The tiled interface of Windows 8 actually looks incredible on Windows phones. It doesn't translate as well onto computers and the Xbox One, though. The thought is that the next version of Windows will throw the Start menu back in but keep most of the design elements from Windows 8. You won't see any major dashboard overhauls for the One anytime soon, for that reason. I'd get used to what you have to deal with right now. I'm okay with the design. It's easy enough to navigate, and that's what matters.

I think consoles should separate themselves from computers. I mean, I'm already facing that UI everyday I would want to see something different for a change. I understand that there are people that like the familiarity but doesn't it feel bored having to use the same UI on everything?

Yea, it's not great. I also would like to see them make the alerts smaller. Every time someone signs in half my screen is covered.
