Just wondering if anyone uses the controller attachment keyboard, or an external keyboard. I used to be a user, when I would game later at night. I found it to be useful because I didn't want to talk late at night, nor did I have much of a need. A quick way for responsive messages sometimes.

Anyone else use a keyboard or accessory related?

Yes I have used a keyboard a few times, much for the same reason that I didn't want to use a mic during the night, but also because messaging is much quicker with using a keyboard.

Oh yeah, seeing how i don't use a headset, i always have a USB keyboard ready to when i need to type fast during an online match.

I actually have one of the adapters that allows me to use it for actually playing. It's really great, especially in FPS games like CoD. Most people can't react fast enough with a controller to even come close to killing me.

I thought mice were used for quick reaction times, like turning your mouse when someone shoots behind you. What are the advantages of the keyboard for playing FPS games? Other than typing or moving your character, I don't see many benefits.

I've used it from time to time, but I don't have a spare keyboard so it's not exactly the most convenient method.

I never tried to use a keyboard on my Xbox. Ever. I never had an instance when I felt that I really needed it. I'm not much of a fan in typing messages either. It just slows me down. So it's either I use the Mic or I don't give any message at all. Besides, I don't mind yelling at 12 midnight while playing call of duty. It makes it a lot more fun.

I heard about them but never bothered to get one. I assumed it would be much easier, faster and more convenient to just use a microphone which is what I brought instead. I am pretty sure my brother used one though and I remember him finding it quite helpful at times so it must have it's time for preferred use.

Any standard keyboard would work, as long as it has a USB attachment and your ports are working. This works for both Xbox 360 and PS3.

I keep a raspberry Pi with my TV so I do have a keyboard lying around, I did hook it up up to the Xbox out of curiosity but I don't really do on any regular basis because I do have the Pi for all of my browsing and media needs.

No, I always saw these advertised but never actually bothered to get one for myself because I thought I didn't need it. I also rarely ever talked because I didn't care for multiplayer games most of the time, so that might also be why a keyboard would have been a waste for me.
Also I never thought to use a regular keyboard when I did play multiplayer, so I guess I'm a little think skulled.

I use my USB keyboard quite a lot now that I think about it. It's more convenient for me to type out messages and scroll through Netflix. It makes my life so much more easier.

If I got one I would be using it for all the wrong reasons. It would be hard to exert discipline if it didn't take so long to type out smack talk. My rep would go straight to the outhouse...

Yeah the keyboard was a really nice addition for the controller but i wish the menus didnt take so long to navigate sometimes. Messaging with text on the Xbox just felt so slow and clunky even if you had the keyboard. Really good idea but got a bit too annoying for my tastes
