Xbox 360 Are the controls the same?

I'm working my way towards buying Assassin's Creed 3, but in the meantime, I still have Assassin's Creed 2 to beat. (I need to start back playing it again. It's been sitting on the shelf for months, forgotten about ever since I bought Halo 4 and Black Ops II.) Are the controls the same across all the games?

I don't know for sure, but I would think so. Anytime you have a game series, controls are usually the same from one game to the next. The only exception to that might be if you got new moves or something.

I don't know the answer to this either, but I hope they're the same. I'm playing my way through Assassin's Creed II at the moment, and I plan on buying Assassin's Creed III as soon as I beat #2. I would hate to be used to the controller layout and find that it's completely different in the next game.
