Most people I know say they prefer everything to be wireless for varying reasons. I get that it's less cluttered. But I've had horrible luck with anything wireless since I bought my systems. Not just my 360, but PS3 as well. Just recently (yesterday) my wireless 360 controller decided it was time to retire. The battery was charged, but lasted about 5 minutes before dying. I plugged the play and charge cable in and no light. No charge. I went to the closest store I knew that sold games and all they had for official MS controllers were wireless. I decided to go cheaper and get a wired one from a third party company. It works and feels fine, but I wasn't aware when I bought it that it lights up whenever the system is on lol. Freaked me out at first.

In my defense, I was in a hurry to just buy one as quickly as possible and get back to play GTA5. I'm sure you understand that.

What about you? Are you a wired or wireless kind of gamer? Also, what wired controllers other than MS would you recommend?

I'm not wired but my brother is. He tried to sell his old playstation 3 and no one would take it because it was wired.

Man, I prefer wireless. So much simpler and I don't run the risk of accidentally pulling it and making my 360 fall or something. Wired ain't bad but it's not for me anymore. Some people prefer wired because they feel it has less "input delay" and stuff, though.

My brother bought a wired 360 controller because of how much cheaper it was. To his disappointment, one of the sticks was malfunctioning within a month. I don't know if that had anything to do with the fact that it was wired (maybe the USB plug-in was bunk? who knows), but all I know is that it got relegated to the shelf very quickly. Wireless is better to me, I'm not good enough at games to notice any input lag, but I'm definitely aware of the wire when I'm holding the controller.

Unfortunately i am wireless because i can't have a cable connected to the router, not that it is that far so i have that bad of a connection, but still, i could have it better. Maybe later i will fix that, when i move from this house.

I did that with my last 360. I stepped over the wire but my foot got caught. One step later, down came the console. Luckily there was no game in the tray and it landed on a rug horizontally. It worked after that until the dreaded RROD did it in lol.

I honestly haven't noticed any input lag when I use a wireless controller. But, man, my luck has been BAD when it comes to them. Hopefully things change with the One.

Yep, I am wired. I would like to switch to wireless though because of a lot of reasons.

I've had zero problems being wireless. And considering my nieces and nephews come over pretty often, I don't even want to imagine what would happen if I had cords everywhere.

Sometimes you have to be wired. My consoles are setup in my basement and the wifi connection is awful down there. I had to buy a 50ft ethernet cable and run it down there so I can play online.

I've always played wireless on my 360 and I can tell you right away that it is a hassle to keep finding fully charged batteries. Sometimes I end up using alkaline batteries and I just hate myself for using non-rechargeable batteries. It's actually a good idea to go wired. I believe that there is less latency involved when wired, and it also works on the PC (main reason why I want a wired controller :) ). There are cases, however, where you do want to keep wireless, for example, playing in the living room where the 360 is either too far away for wired controllers to reach or the wire would be a nuisance that acts as a blockade, impeding anyone from walking past the living room...

i have both the dual wireless and wired in capability.

i have had more dropped service with the wireless especially if i am on my laptop or ipad2.

i generally stay wired. my router on right side of my tv my 360 is on left so its not like i have but 3 feet of wire behind my stand. my speeds seem to be better wired in.. plus it takes priority on the other wirless devices in he house.

I am wireless and loving it. My controller is wireless and headset is wireless. I'm not limited to a certain number of feet because of wiring. It makes life so much more easier. I can stay as far back as possible without having to worry about wires, and I don't have to worry about tripping over them.

I am wireless. It's 2013. You should be wireless by this point in time. I really dislike the wires on my old school systems like SNES, Dreamcast, N64 etc. That junk just gets in the way and people end up tripping over the cords. I really enjoy the wireless option.

I much prefer wireless, personally. So much less cluttered and easier to deal with all around. I haven't experienced much downside to it.
