I have witnessed the gameplay of Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons at the home of one of my friends. The game is set in a fairytale land and stars 2 brothers who sets out to save their dying father. It's an adventure puzzle game that looks extremely pretty and is eerily similar to the cult classic Ico on the PS2. However, after a few minutes, my friend slapped on Dead or Alive and we started beating each other out. When he finishes the game, I'm gonna try it out myself.

I hadn't even heard of this one. You compare it to Ico and it sounds like a neat game, so I will check it out. Thanks.

It sounds like a very interesting game that I think I might actually look into later, for now though I think I'll check on Youtube and see if I can find some in depth features on the game. Thanks for the suggestion because I've never heard of this game before now.

Nice catch, I checked out the trailer and this does look interesting. I thought the art style looked british but then I looked it up and its actually a Swedish game, interesting. The director is apparently a former film director, so I hope this game does not try to stretch for any pretentious, artsy reaches, and just keep it simple and fun. It looks like it comes out this week so I'll check it out.

So what makes it eerily similar to the Ico? Escorting something or someone, a mechanic that requires constant vigilance, what? That said thanks for bringing this up - I'll try to keep up with this.... but then again I might just forget.

Never heard of this before, seems like an interesting niche game. The art style looked solid enough and the gameplay simple, which is something that should at least guarantee one playthrough. But i can't the see the Ico resemblance. There is escort mechanics because you can control both characters (i am aware that you could control Yorda with a second controller, but that was an extra) and both are useful and controllable at the same time.

Of course they look a lot different. You don't expect the developers to copy the exact same graphical style of Ico do you? But the gameplay is very similar. For those who got bored with Ico may want to look elsewhere. I think it's not a game for everybody.

It's a totally different game. Ico was darker. Also had great graphics for a 2001 game...

Ico was either a love it or hate it game whereas Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons aims to be more appealing to a wider range of audiences. The graphics are more cartoony in Brother also. But, again, it's the gameplay where you would find the similarities. If you would change one of the brothers into a girl, would that help you see the similarities? Lol.

Ico was a bit more dark and brooding, in my opinion. However, I think Brothers is far more beautiful in its setting and tone. The controls are a bit awkward to get used to at first (I'm used to playing twin stick shooter games like that), but once you get used to it, it's quite fun. It's like 360's Journey, except deeper when it comes to the gameplay.

Plus, the achievements are super easy. Lovely title.
