Xbox One Buying a Xbox One in 2016?

I actually have afriend who asked me this and all I told him was to wait until the One S or the Scorpio get released to make a better decision, however, what could you recommend him?

I think that is sound advice. The big question is if he should buy the One S or wait a year for the Scorpio. I personally think that the Scorpio's launch is so far off that it's worth while getting the One S now, provided that it's in your friends budget, other wise there is always the One that should lower in price.

He definitely wants to wait for the Scorpio's release, but he does not have anything to play with right now so it's quite boring for him, you may understand what it is like not to have anything to play with even when you have the money for a console.

Yes I can understand, can't he find a cheap used XBox that he can buy for now?

I think a lot is going to depend on how much the OP's friend want's to spend, and if he's prepared to wait. The 3 options are buy a second hand console, buy a Xbox ONE S or wait for the Scorpio. Personally I'd buy a second hand device for now and wait for the Scorpio, but there is an argument to say they might as ell go for the Xbox ONE S as it's priced pretty cheaply to be honest, and they will get the advantage of it being a brand new system as well.
