So I have a question here. It's pretty similar to the threads already on this forum about whether you use wired or wireless controllers for your console, but in my case it also includes using the controller for PC.

Anyone here use an Xbox 360 controller for their PC? If so, do you prefer wired or wireless on PC? It's a bit different from asking whether you use wired or wireless on the 360 because on the PC you are sitting much closer to a screen. I was planning on getting a new controller for both my 360 and PC, but I haven't decided whether I should go for wired or wireless.

If the game requires my utmost reaction, wired everytime. If it's a game that doesn't like poker/etc. I use wireless. Also on a PC again, wired. The cord doesn't matter as your normally sitting right at your computer, so its not in the way/out of the way, it's just kind of... there.

Is there a lot of latency when using wireless vs wired? I mean, I have wireless controllers for my 360, but it feels responsive nevertheless.

Even for fighting games i go wireless. The only time i go wired is when i am recharging my controller. If there is such a lag of input for the controllers, i really never noticed it.

Alright, so I'm guessing it doesn't really even matter which one I use then. The good thing about getting a wireless one for me is that the USB adapter it comes with will allow my other controllers to be used on PC as well. I guess I'll be going for the wireless one then. Thanks for the input guys.

I would suggest you get a wireless controller. It makes your life so much easier. You're not limited to a certain number of feet with a wireless controller. Also, with a wired controller there's always a chance of you tripping over it. I recently switched from wired to wireless and i'm loving every second of it.

Yo should go for wireless controller in my opinion. I am going to switch to it soon as well.

Wireless, for the sake if you have a puppy that likes to chew like mine.

Thanks for the suggestion guys! I guess I am definitely going wireless :) for PC. Just gotta wait for the controller to be on sale before I buy it. Gotta save some cash for upgrades and new games, haha.

I'd say wireless as well. Like some of the others mentioned above, I've never noticed lag at all and much prefer not having a cord in the way.

Which batteries do you guys recommend? And I mean rechargeable batteries. I'm fed up using non-rechargeable alkaline batteries which produces toxic waste in our environment. I've probably used up like three packs of twenty alkaline batteries over the course of my Xbox 360 playtime and it's just not worth it considering how fast the batteries deplete.

Well I use wireless. I don't think it really matters whether it is wired or wireless. Just make sure it is not a copy. Deadly things those. They are so crap I wouldn't even call them Xbox controllers. It is better to spend the money for the official one than to spend a load on a series of knockoffs.

I would go with wireless as well. Although as I get older I start to realize the value of a wired controller. When using a wired controller you never have to charge your controller, because it is connected to your system. I don't know how many times I have been playing a game, and my controller goes dead.

For the Xbox, I prefer wireless but in my opinion, it'd be easier for you to use a wired controller on the PC. You wouldn't have to worry about batteries OR battery life. I just find it more convenient for the PC.

Definitely go with the wired one, you don't need to pay extra for the wireless one if you're next to your PC. Also consider the fact that when you use a wireless controller, it always has to do a head shake between the controller and the PC. While with wired, it instantly does the movement. I don't use a controller on my PC mainly because using WASD and the mouse is easier for me, although using an xbox controller could make things a bit more comfortable.

Chose the wired controller, the vibration is much more butter with him. And the wired also cheaper then the wireless. The wire is about 5 meters long. The only problem in wired controller is that you can only use 2.

Really the only benefit (aside from cost) that i've noticed is that the wired ones can get hooked up to your computer if there's ever a computer title your excited about playing but what the familiar feeling of a controller
