Xbox One Controller update?

After today's update if you go to settings and then system, there's an option to update your controller. Does anyone know what this is for..... is it just related to the incoming audio adapter?

Yup, its just for the new adapter. You actually will not be able to get the controller update unless the controller is plugged in to the console and the adapter plugged into the controller.

one day i will get a new headset for the xb1... after the boat gets worked on and i get a new daily driver lol.. its thattime of the year xbox one will start getting used less

What does a new headset offer than the included one does not?

I know sound quality and things like that, but feature wise what do you get for the extra hundred or two?

The included headset is only for chatting. Any new headset would also carry the game audio and most importantly it would be in either 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound

good thing I got a new headset to work on my titanfall game. Love the game by the way. Too bad can't play it this week. Going to vegas.
