Xbox One Could you play with people who have an xbox one on the 360 (live)?

I saw this on the Xbox site. I just don't know if it is possible thought.

Unleash the power of the cloud with a new generation of Xbox Live. It also connects you to thousands of games, songs, TV shows, movies, and sports. More importantly, it’s a scalable source of power that will grow stronger over time. Best of all, your games and profile are stored in the cloud, so every Xbox One console behaves like your very own. And because it’s all one service, your Xbox Live Gold membership will work on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

i know its not possible if thats the question. as far as wether i could stand to? sure!

PC players with amazing hardware go up against others with basic to decent hardware all the time. hardware isnt everything. in many cases people throw money at hardware thinking it will put them on top, and end up with an expensive system to suck at their games on haha

I am pretty sure that you can. They are different consoles, but they are both hooking up to the Xbox Live servers. Sure they have changed up Live a bit, but you are paying for and getting the same service so you can play the same games that are compatible for both consoles. If the game is available for 360 and not for One, then you can't play together. See what I mean?

I agree with you on this sillylucy. I know you can play with people who have Xbox One given that the game that they have is compatible.

My answer is no (In my opinion). This will only be evident if you have the same game which would be compatible to xbox one. Judging from the list of games available on Xbox One, the possibility of this happening is slim. Sorry but I have to agree with sillylucy and Dom0411 on this. Anyways it still too early to say, but there might be a possibility that microsoft will make both consoles available for interaction plus games that are compatible for both. (Don't quote me on this)

I agree with the theory about compatibility, if the consoles are connected to the same servers, then why not?

I guess it is possible but it won't happen due to it being MS and also has to do with the game

One example game wise is BF4....on console there is only max 32 player where as on XB1 we have 64 players.

It is possible, considering DC Universe will allow PS3 & PS4 players to be on the same server and play. Though it is a more simple game to host on a server may play a factor. Sony is also allowing their users to keep their PS3 game while upgrading to the PS4 version for $10, whereas we have to physically trade in our old game. So they can still play on PS3 with friends who haven't and play on PS4 too. We can't, its BS IMO. Not too mention Sony upgrades end March 2014, XBOX ends Dec 13.

Another thing with cross platform, we can't even chat with people on 360. I have to run my 360 in the background since IDK anybody who has an XB1. They say its b/c of the audio codec being better, which it is, but still that should be an easy patch. MS just wants everybody to switch already. I believe games are gonna stop being made after 2015 for old gen.

I'm curious about that. Wbeans650 tells it like its. DC Universe will have cross-play with PS3 and PS4, with PS4 having 1080p upscaling with update graphics. So can Xbox One and 360 play with each other? It's still something that's not yet explained fully. Also, Microsoft has stated before that the 360 has 3 years left in its life, so that means there the cross-connectivity may not be a long-term thing. Quite sad yeah, so if you decide to move to the Xbox One, might as well say goodbye to the 360 then.

It could be but I don't think it can be done the way Sony does it. Sony firmly believes in supporting the PS3 and PS4 hand in hand but in the case of the 360 and One, not much. Microsoft, as I see it, isn't planning to on keeping 360 players on their consoles for too long. After all, marthyrocks said Microsoft states that the 3 years is left in the life of the 360. So in those 3 years, Microsoft might be planning to have everybody jump ship from 360 to One. See what happened to the original Xbox after the 360 came out?

Aw well, I'll just have to accept that if they can't let people with 360 play with One, then that's it.

Wait, like playing multiplayer games on the Xbox One against someone who is playing on a Xbox 360? While they are using the same servers (i think i read that somewhere), i think the multiplayer sessions are actually divided. But someone correct me if am wrong.

right the servers may be the same but the entire architechture of the console is different. You could play xbox 360 vs the original xbox so im pretty sure you cant play xbone vs x360. theres only one way to find out though

See that's what I believe their excuse is, architecture but that is invalid b/c like I said, PS3 and PS4 will be able to play each other and PS4 is on the x86 arch like XB1. So it kinda seems like its up to the dev team of each game I guess if they wanna put in some extra work to make it work?

Now I actually think I may have figured out why! It may actually not be MS being greedy (even though they are :D)

Find the perfect match.
Smart Match uses advanced algorithms to pair you with the right players, and gives you more control over who you play with.

Cloud-based power.
Unleash the power of the cloud. Games hosted in the cloud on Xbox Live gain performance, neutralize host advantage and minimize cheating.

Nope. Different servers. No voice chat either, just text

I want to say yes, but my answer is going to be no. At least not unless the devs of the game give it that capability or Microsoft does something to allow it. As someone already said, Sony is allowing players on both the PS3 and PS4 to play online together and DCUO is doing the same thing. So I'm not sure why you can't on the Xbox One. That decision confuses me, maybe Microsoft will do something about that in the future if enough people want it.

I am on the DEA clan for XBOX360 COD but can't play along with them now that I've switched over too the ONE. We've tried without success. I see them on my friends list but it also shows that they are all on XBOX360 while I'm not. So the only way I can play COD with them is to go back to the 360 but that's not gonna happen...LOL! I love my XB1 experience and can't look back. I wish I could play with them because I'm tired of losing in multiplayer playing with randoms that don't play as they should. I will deal with it until all of my clan switches over to the ONE. Game on players!
