I do appreciate a major corporation listening to the masses, and reacting quickly to what the people are concerned about. However, this decision could be a minor setback in innovation for console gaming in general. Unfortunately this change in policy could be seen as an example of competition killing innovation. PS4 is status quo and very safe, while the Xbox One was offering new ways of experiencing games (Family sharing, reselling digital downloads, no disc swapping, playing your games on any Xbox One, anytime and anywhere without a disc). Now these options are completely all removed from the console. Gamers had a choice this generation….but not any more.
Just remember people always fear change, but change is what moves us all forward.
