There was so much hype and stuff, but at the end of the day it was mostly just off-model graphics and boredom for me. The one silver lining about this is that I get it for fairly cheap instead of like first day or something. Of course, I can't actually say this to anyone or they get all defensive about this game - but it just wasn't a good game for me over all.

I played this game really late but people assured me this is one of the best title around. Besides, it was made by a reputed company that convinced me to believe this will be a great game. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed with the graphics even though the investigation style gameplay was great. I was expecting a game like Mafia 2 where you play the cop and catch thugs in a storyline set in the past but all I got was a CSI game with good lip sync but horrible facial mesh. Hope Rockstar does a good job with the upcoming GTA V. Anyways, they have never failed with the franchise, so it's going to be great!

Well, the game is in a league of its own, so no I didn't hate this game whatsoever. Off-Model graphics? I'm not sure what that means, nor do I think anyone has a slight clue what you refer to in that case. If you see the only positive in this game being cheap, then wait a few months and every game will be good in your opinion.

Actually, the fact the game makes you pay attention to detail, and read reactions is pretty stellar. A bunch of of crimes that actually went unsolved for missions is also pretty dang cool in my opinion. Sure, it's not no playback value, but it's a game worth having in any collection.

I did like the game, but there a few really bad things about it.

1. There was no point in making it an open world because there was NOTHING to do other than travel point to point (which you could do anyway) and do some useless collection.
2. The face modeling was a little off-putting as for all the stars, it would be ultra-realistic heads on top of (sometimes hovering slightly above as the neck wasn't always connected) these stiff robot bodies. For non-important character's regular low-resolution models were used. So it was a little funny to see a high-rez model talk to a low-rez model.
3. The investigating was really over simplified for my liking ... It bothered me how constantly the murder weapons or key item was usually right in the next room and scream the culprit. It undermined the investigation scenes that were heavily lauded.
4. Story wise, it was fine EXCEPT the sudden and jarring transition from Cole being straight-arrow to one having an affair. It was sudden, not conveyed very well, and almost came out of nowhere. It seemed contrived.

Otherwise, I do forgive all that as I did enjoy the game regardless and would like to see a spiritual sequel improve on these notes.

Okay - off-model is a term generally used in animation referring to sudden or awkward changes to characters. I'm not sure why you're attacking me because I said a good point was it being cheap, but okay I'm glad you like this game so much. That said this game wasn't very stellar for me because the "tells" and such weren't especially consistent. The story sucked. I might as well have been on a rail system...
