This was one of the first games I got for Xbox 360.
I'd never played an Amped game (and I'd barely played a snowboarding game, besides a Dreamcast demo back in 2000 or 2001), but Amped 3 was quite a surprise.
What I liked the most was how 'chill' and 'relaxing' the game's vibe was. It didn't seem like a normal game, but an experience in itself.
It was one of the few games that didn't urge me to skip cutscenes - they were so great I can't really explain it in words.

Anyway, what's your opinion on Amped 3?

I did like Amped 3. I liked the fact that it had a story, which is kind of unusual, even though I thought it was kind of weak. Gameplay was really fun with tons of missions and decent graphics.

I agree. Although I didn't find the story weak - it was weird for sure, I'll give you that, but I liked it overall.
Gameplay was really solid, although it just felt too easy at times, it didn't give you a real challenge.
I thought the latest SSX game would be a little better, for being a little more arcade-style, but I was quite disappointed.
Sometimes I still pop Amped 3 and play it, it's pretty fun.

That's the thing with games like this - it's not necessarily a big challenge, but they're just plain ol' fun. I pop Amped 3 in from time to time, as well, just because I find it enjoyable.

Exactly my thoughts!
The same happens with other games, mainly those that rely more on actual fun gameplay than plot/story/weird mechanics. For example, Vice City: I can't help it but go back and play it again from time to time. It's just plain fun, you can't go wrong with it!

I suppose you could say that's how gaming started out really - gameplay was everything...after all nobody would stick another quarter in the slot on the basis of plot, would they? It would be because they wanted another blast of fun, right? Pac-Man and Space Invaders didn't really have particularly epic storylines, but they were (and still are) great fun.
