DmC: Devil May Cry Achievement Guide
DmC: Devil May Cry is the fifth game in the amazing franchise and is the first game from DMC series that hasn’t been developed by Capcom. This time British game development studio Ninja Theory was in charge of creating the title and I have to say that they’ve managed to breath in lots of fresh ideas in DMC: Devil May Cry slasher and now it looks like an amazing mix of Japanese strong desire for monster madness and British classy characters that watch the explosions with their eyes wide open.
I am not going to talk about the plot because it is pretty straightforward: you move forward and you slash everything and anything that comes closer to you. But what I am simply obliged to mention is that in the newest DMC title the fighting combo system looks just amazing. It is very intuitive and now you do not have to use your toes to perform some combos.
All in all there are 48 achievements that you are supposed to unlock and I would give them 8 out of 10 on the Complexity scale, mostly because you will be forced to replay the game at least 5 times to gather them all and this doesn’t sound like a nice perspective. But, thanks to amazing graphics your 5 playthroughs should turn into amazingly beautiful walks with monsters. It should take you no less than 50 hours to get all the 1000G points.

Playthrough Guide
As it was mentioned above, in order to unlock all the achievements you will be forced to play the game for a couple of times. Here’s a brief guide to give you the idea on how to make things right and complete the game with the maximum profit and minimum “costs.”
Playthrough #1
Finish the game on Human and unlock all the equipment and abilities.
Playthrough #2
In the second playthrough you will have to complete the game on Human again and collect all the keys, doors, and lost souls. Not only will it unlock all the collectible achievements but also you will get a SSS in unlocks to greatly boost your SSS Nephilim playthrough. By the way: there are missions that have no collectibles. This means that you are free to change difficulty to Nephilim and go directly for SSS if you desire.
Playthrough #3
Play the third playthrough on Nephilim difficultly: this will bring you SSS rank and will unlock the “Jackpot!” achievement.
Playthrough #4
Playthrough on Son of Sparda
Playthrough #5
Playthrough on Dante Must Die
Playthrough #6
Playthrough on Heaven on Hell
Playthrough #7
Playthrough on Hell and Hell
Playthrough #8
If by any change you need to complete the following achievements, simply go back and replay the game:
It's only rain
Where does the time go?
A man with guts and honor
Now my coat's all charred
Every hero has a weakness
By the way: do not forget to check achievement section on the main menu. It will provide you with all the important information including how close you are to unlocking this or that achievement.
Below are the achievements for Mafia 2, along with the number of achievement points you’ll receive and a summary on how to get each achievement.
DmC: Devil May Cry Achievements
There are 48 achievements with a total of 1000 points.
Time to go to work guys!
You purchased your first upgrade
This will come to you naturally as you progress though the game. In order to make a purchase you will have to use the points you acquire during missions. The better you fight – the more you get. To buy items and unlock new moves and abilities you have to use the Divinity Statues. You will be introduces to it in the very first mission. Get closer to the statue and activate your upgrade menu. Choose whatever you think is great for you and buy it. Items that you already have are marked in yellow and those available for purchase will appear in white. By the way – you can also upgrade your character from the Main Menu.

Come on Puppy. Let's go!
You have defeated the Hunter
This is story related and can’t be missed. The Hunter is the very first boss you are going to meet in the game and he will appear at the end of Level 1. The Hunter is a creepy creature that not only looks bad but also has a couple of tricks hidden. However, you shouldn’t have any serious problems killing him. There are two things you need to remember: 1. you can damage the Hunter only by hitting his head; 2. Jump away from his attacks – this will save your character in most of the times from being hit. To damage the creature at the close range use your sword and when at the distance – fire him with your guns. At some moments you will see the Hunter lying on the ground trying to catch the breath and get up on feet. Do not feel sorry for him and keep hitting creature with the sword. When low on health, The Hunter will darken the area and throw his flaming blade out at you. The only thing you are supposed to do here is to dodge until it’s over. You can’t damage the blade nor you can hit the Hunter when it’s after you.

Thing drives me crazy
You have acquired Osiris
This is story related and can’t be missed. Osiris is another weapon you are going to get via painting. But first of all you will have to kill a couple of monsters. They are really easy to deal with so just keep killing them. Do not forget to use your new skill called “Block Breaker.” Whenever a target is blocking your regular hits with a shield – use the skill to make him change his mind. When you’re done, walk closer to your mother’s painting and she will send you Osiris. Osiris is an angelic scythe and happens to be particularly useful when dealing with the large crowds of enemies.

Only kind of gift worth giving
You have acquired the Angel Boost ability
This is story related and can't be missed. Not that far from the Mission 3 you will grab another blue rose. It will be on top of a statue in the arena you start in. This will give you a possibility to acquire the Angel Boost ability. Angel Boost allows Dante to propel himself forward while in mid-air. It's very useful when combined with the Ophion Angel Lift ability. You can see how it looks like in this video.

Flock off, feather-face!
You have defeated the Tyrant
This is story related and can’t be missed. You need do defeat Tyrant. He is a boss in Mission 4. Frankly speaking, you can hardly call him a boss because it’s really easy to defeat him and you can even do that in less than a minute. Simply shoot him with your guns from the distance and slash him with your sword when close, wait for him to hit back and dodge. Get closer again and repeat the procedure.

It's got to stay in the family
You have acquired Arbiter
This is story related and can’t be missed. Arbiter is your father’s weapon and you will obtain it in the Mission 2. First of all you will have to kill the death knight. He will have a round shield and hitting him with your sword or shooting him with your guns in his face won’t work. Your task is to flank the knight and hit or shoot him from behind. Just keep moving fast, jumping and doing whatever it takes to appear behind. After you defeat the knight – get closer to the painting and you will get a new weapon – Arbiter. Arbiter is a demonic axe whose swings are slow but powerful. It’s especially effective against shields.

This baby sure can pack a punch
You have acquired Eryx
This is story related and can’t be missed. In Mission 6 you will have to fight another disgusting boss called Succubus. Probably, it is the only REALLY disgusting monster in the game and the only one who uses bad language the way it should be used. First of all, you need to hit him in his claws. You can either concentrate on one or hit whatever is comfortable – that’s up to you. Your main task is to disconnect him from the wires. If you can’t reach those – change platforms to get closer. After you drop Succubus on the ground level, use your lift to drop into the river and let him die by hitting his hand constantly. After you kill the monster – you will get the achievement and acquire Eryx. Eryx is a powerful set of gauntlets that are capable of dealing massive damage to a single target. It is a bit slower than Arbiter but is the best CQC weapon for Dante when dealing with powerful enemies. They create a feeling that your hands are on fire.

He's a demon too
You helped Phineas by retrieving his eye
This is story related and can’t be missed. All you have to do is to progress though the Mission 8 and retrieve Phineas eye. While playing the mission watch out for unexpected traps.

You are not a Human, are you?
You have acquired the Devil Trigger ability
This is story related and can’t be missed. Progress through the mission and at a certain point you will get Devil Trigger. Devil Trigger is a manifestation of true power. Devil Trigger sends the world into chaos by throwing surrounding enemies helplessly into the air. When active the Trigger Gauge drains. Also, Dante’s health will regenerate and he will have increased damage and armor. Check out the video below.

No talking!
You have acquired Aquila
This is story related and can’t be missed. Your task is to defeat Bob Barbas which happens to be one of the bosses. He is kind of strange boss because he is in charge of all the information around but still – some of his abilities are pretty interesting. In order to kill Bob you will have to stand in the middle of red pressure pads and hit them with ground pounds. This will disable Bob’s digital shield. You can now run forward and hit him with your sword, axe or whatever you find will work. While he's stunned, whale on his bulbous head. Do not forget to dodge during his attacks. When his eyes gain the blue circle, it means that you are supposed to use the angel whip. After that you will have to fight a small wave of enemies. When done – repeat the strategy described above. Killing Bob Barbas will bring you Aquila – amazing dual wielded Angelic weapon. Aquila is really devastating against large groups of weak enemies and can quickly take down the barriers of Witches.

More than just a few sparks
You have acquired Revenant
This is story related and can’t be missed. You need to complete Mission 12 and acquire Revenant. Simply progress through the mission and at a certain point your companion will slide you Revenant. Revenant is a powerful shotgun and is very useful for clearing crowds of enemies. It also deals really high damage at close range. To see how it looks go to 9:20 on the video.

Whatever, Lady
You have defeated Mundus' spawn
This is story related and can’t be missed. Your task is to defeat Mundus' spawn at the end of Mission 14. Most of the offensive hits made by Mundus' spawn are on ground hits and if you spend most of the time in the air – it will save you from being killing. First of all concentrate on the blue glowing ball on his left side. This will make him open his third eye. When he does – start kicking the eye. When you kill the monster – pull out the woman and start slashing her with close combat weapon. Try to damage her as strong as possible as far as at a certain point the creepy creature will suck her back in and you will have to kill it again in order to pull the woman out. It will take some time to kill the monster and the woman but just keep slashing and repeating the strategy described above.

You're not going to shoot me
You have acquired Kablooey
This is story related and can’t be missed. You will obtain this weapon while progressing to the end of Mission 16. Kablooey is a powerful weapon that fires explosive needles that stuck in enemies and can be manually detonated.

It's time to finish this!
You helped Vergil open the Vault
This is story related and can’t be missed. You will come across an opportunity to unlock this achievement in Mission 18. Basically, all you have to do is to open the Vault by solving a puzzle. It is rather simple: you need to put 4 different symbols in correct order so they form a flower in the center. When you’re done – the Vault will open and you will get your 10G points.

Cleaning up his Dad's mess
You have defeated Mundus
This is story related and can’t be missed. You will meet Mundus in Mission 19. Your first strategy will be to avoid his hits. When you see a red circle on the ground – dodge the other way. After that, when his fist is on the ground, keep hitting it as long and as hard as possible. Change the platforms when required. When you cut both his hands off – wait for him to bend over and hit him in the face. When you defeat Mundus, you are supposed to get 20G points and the corresponding achievement.

The end? Don't bet on it
You defeated Vergil on any difficulty
This is story related and can’t be missed. You need to defeat Vergil on any difficulty which means you can set the game to Human difficulty and make everything a lot easier. Vergil is the boss from Mission 20 and killing him won’t be easy. The trick is that whatever offensive stuff you do – it won’t work. He will either reflect your shots, block your hits or simply dodge away. You have to build your fighting strategy on counterattacks. Wait for him to do something and hit/shoot him when he’s open. When Vergil gets on his knees – activate your Double Trigger mode and keep hitting him as long as possible. It will take a while to kill him because counterattacking is not as good as attacking but this is the only way to get things done. After a while he will clone himself making things even harder to complete. But as long as you fight well – you will get the achievement sooner or later.

Looks like it's your lucky day
You completed a level without taking any damage
There are a few options that give you a possibility to unlock this achievement. Replay Mission 3 for the second time on Human difficulty. With the Angel Boost skill obtained in the first attempt you won’t have any problems doing that. Just kill all the enemies (they are really easy to fight with) and head to the exit.
The other nice place to get this achievement is Mission 15 because there are no enemies on this level. But, you will have to do your best to get to the end without missing a single jump.

Every hero has a weakness
You completed Furnace of Souls without taking damage from the furnace
Furnace of Souls is Mission 17 in DMC. Your task is rather simple: you need to complete the level without taking damage from the furnace. Technically – it’s all about perfect timing. Get on the platform, wait for the fire to go up and move to the next platform. If you get hit by the Flames, simply reload the last Checkpoint and continue playing. And remember: sometimes it’s better to wait than to rush forward.

It's only the rain
You Killed 10 enemies by pushing them into the Hurricane ride
You will come across this achievement in the very first mission. Your task is rather simple but requires some gaming skills: kill 10 enemies by pushing them into the Hurricane ride. When you approach the Ride, 10 monsters will appear. Now, remember – you can’t just kill them. Press the “B” button and perform “Hightime air attack of the Rebellion”. This will launch monsters in the air. Do not forget to let go at a proper moment. Otherwise you are going to be hit with the Hurricane Ride instead. Don’t get upset if you do not unlock it from the first attempt. Restart from the checkpoint or get back to this mission later.

A man with guts and honor
You reached the end of the descent on Mission 6 having killed all of the enemies
You will be able to unlock this achievement without any problems when playing on Human difficulty. Your task is simple: you need to complete the level in less than two minutes. Unlike the other levels, in this case you will have a timer to your left. Luckily, things are not as hard as they seem to be and even with a few screw-ups I managed to get to the end fast. Just remember to use Angel Boost and Angel Lift as often as possible.

Now my coat's all charred
You navigated the Sky Bridge without hitting the lasers
As a matter of fact – this is pretty easy achievement and all you have to do is to wait for a perfect opportunity. There are a couple of lasers that you need to jump over in Mission 16 between the 105/106 floors. Get as close to the lasers as possible and wait for a part of them to disappear for a few seconds. Then press jump and use your “Air push” by pressing LT+A. If you hit the laser after all – just restart from the checkpoint. Between the 2 laser barricades you will be drawn into a little fight. Just make sure that you are far enough from lasers and do not hit them accidently. After you jump over the last laser – the notification message will pop up saying that you have “Now my coat's all charred” achievement in your arsenal.

Where does the time go?
You completed a level in 2 minutes or less
In order to unlock this achievement you’ll need Angel Boost that can be obtained in Mission 3. Now, you can restart any mission you want but I think that the only possible place to do this is Mission 3 on Human difficulty. Kill the first wave of enemies and now just Angel boost to the end of level. It will take like two jumps. More than just easy.

For Tony Redgrave
You killed 50 enemies using nothing but firearms
This will, probably, come to you naturally but only if you plan on using Ebony and Ivory. Your task is to kill 50 enemies using nothing but firearms. If your enemies are protecting themselves with shields – use Demon Pull to remove it and then use your guns to take them down.
Ebony & Ivory – Ebony & Ivory are Dante's trusty high caliber pistols. They are capable of maintaining high rates of fire against a single target. Unlike Rebellion, Ebony & Ivory automatically lock on to a target when fired.
The Revenant – the Revenant is the shotgun in DMC. It offers more fire power then Ebony & Ivory, but is much slower. It also is great for crowd control.
The Kablooey – the Kablooey is the strongest weapon at Dante's disposal in DMC. Cleverly named, it just screams "extreme firepower."
In the name of my father
You killed 100 enemies using nothing but Demon weapons
This will, probably, come to you naturally but only if you plan on using nothing but Demon weapons. Kill 100 enemies with it and you will get the achievement. The best places to do that are those where you are going to get the weapons: Mission 2 – Arbiter, Mission 6 – Eryx.
Arbiter – Arbiter is the first Demonic weapons at the disposal of Dante.
Eryx – Eryx is a powerful set of gauntlets that are capable of dealing massive damage to a single target. Each attack can be charged for greater effect.
You'll never have her fire
You killed 100 enemies using nothing but Angel weapons
This will, probably, come to you naturally but only if you plan on using nothing but Angel weapons. Kill 100 enemies with it and you will get the achievement. The best places to do that are those where you are going to get the weapons: Mission 2 – Osiris, Mission 10 – Aquila.
Osiris – Osiris is the first Angelic weapons available for Dante.
Aquila – Aquila is an Angelic weapon in Dante's arsenal. They are a pair of shuriken like projectiles, emitting waves of energy when thrown.
Impressive
You have slayed 100 Demons
This is pretty self-explanatory and will come to you naturally. Technically, all you have to do is to play the game. Kill 100 Demons and 10G points will be yours.
Bring it on!
You have slayed 1,000 Demons
This is pretty self-explanatory and will come to you naturally. Technically, all you have to do is to play the game. Kill 1000 Demons and 20G points will be yours. If you have any problems unlocking this achievement (which you shouldn’t), you can check out the “Looks like we have a winner” achievement for some additional guidance.
Looks like we have a winner
You have slayed 5,000 Demons
This is pretty self-explanatory: you need to kill 5,000 Demons. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to do this on in one playthrough. To give you the idea of how long it might take, I’ve managed to kill a bit more than 1,000 Demons during my first playthrough. It will, probably, come to you naturally as you work towards finishing all the difficulties but if you still do not have this achievement or you want to get it as fast as possible, here’s a great method that will help you to get things done really fast.
- First of all, you will have to have “A Taste of Heaven” Secret Mission opened and “Super Dante” unlocked. You will get “Super Dante” from finishing “Dante Must Die” difficulty.
- Before starting “A Taste of Heaven”, make sure you have “Super Dante” activated.
- Now, start the Secret Mission “A Taste of Heaven”;
- Activate “Devil Trigger” at the very beginning;
- Hit “Select” or “Back” button on the D-pad and this will kill all the enemies;
- After you’re done – hit “Start” and restart the Secret mission.
There are 11 enemies in the Secret Mission and it takes about 5 seconds to finish the mission and restart it. In 10 minutes only you can get about 1500 demons killed which is really amazing. In about half an hour or even less you should definitely unlock the achievement with more than 5000 Demons on your account.

Sensational!
You gained a SSS Style Rank during combat
To gain a SSS Style Rank during combat you just have to keep fighting your enemies nonstop and do as much combos as possible. You also need to vary up your attacks and do major damage very fast.

It's showtime. Come on!
You earned 1,500 Style Bonuses
Style points are granted for doing combos during battles so it’s in your interest to be as creative as possible. It might take a while to become skillful at this but do not waste your time on simple slashes and boring hits. Rush into the group of enemies and start killing them with as different combo hits as possible. The better you become at this – the more Style points you are going to get. If you still do not have enough – try to replay the game or missions with lots of enemies.
This is my kind of rain
You have spent 10,000 Red Orbs
Orbs are dropped by spiders, enemies, and destructible things after you kill/smash/destroy them in the game. When you collect enough, you can use the Red Orbs to purchase items from the Divinity Statues or from the main menu Shop. The good news is that you do not have to have 10,000 Red Orbs on your account: this sum is cumulative over all playthroughs.
Absolutely crazy about it
You have Spent 50,000 Red Orbs

Let’s rock, baby!
You have upgraded Dante's health to maximum
Dante's health can be upgraded in the stores but you won’t be able to get it to the maximum without finishing Secret Rooms. It takes 6 upgrades from the store and shards from the secret missions to get max health.
You can't handle it
You have upgraded Dante's Devil Trigger to maximum
In order to unlock this achievement you will have to upgrade Dante's Devil Trigger to maximum. Upgrades can be bought from the shop for 1,000, 5,000 and 10,000 red orbs. If you want to get shards – complete the secret mission after. Devil Trigger is a manifestation of true power. Devil Trigger sends the world into chaos by throwing surrounding enemies helplessly into the air. When active the Trigger Gauge drains. Also, Dante’s health will regenerate and he will have increased damage and armor. Check out the video below.
Power... Give me more power!
You have purchased all of Dante's combat upgrades

All in all there are 21 Secret Doors: 10 Copper, 6 Argent, 4 Gold, and 1 Ivory. Stylish!
Completed a mission with a SSS rank
If you manage to find all the collectables in a level, it will give you an immediate bonus of SSS in that category. The other two factors that you are supposed to consider are points and time. Do your best to keep things up and continue hitting targets or target (if it’s a boss). The better you work with your sword and guns creating amazing combos – the faster you are going to get SSS rank. A very nice place to do that is the final level which is just a boss battle but it can be obtained almost anywhere with lots of enemies nearby.

Too easy!
Completed all missions on the Son of Sparda difficulty
In order to unlock “Son of Sparda” difficulty you will have to complete the game on any difficulty. When you have this difficulty available in the menu – complete all missions on the “Son of Sparda” difficulty.
Devils never cry
Completed all missions on the Dante Must Die difficulty
In order to unlock “Dante Must Die” difficulty you will have to complete the game on “Son of Sparda” difficulty. When you have this difficulty available in the menu – complete all missions on the “Dante Must Die” difficulty.
This is what I live for!
Completed all missions on Heaven Or Hell difficulty
In order to unlock “Heaven Or Hell” difficulty you will have to complete the game on “Dante Must Die” difficulty. When you have this difficulty available in the menu – complete all missions on the “Heaven Or Hell” difficulty.
And welcome to Hell!
Completed all missions on Hell and Hell difficulty
In order to unlock “Hell and Hell” difficulty you will have to complete the game on “Heaven Or Hell” difficulty. When you have this difficulty available in the menu – complete all missions on the “Hell and Hell” difficulty.
Jackpot!
Completed all missions on the Nephilim difficultly with a SSS rank
To get all the collectibles out of the way I would recommend completing the game on Human difficulty. By doing so you will automatically get a SSS on collections. This will also help you to cut down your time a lot by not having to stray in order to get souls and keys.
This party's just getting crazy!
You have completed 10 of the Secret Missions
All in all there are 21 Secret Missions. Every Key that opens a Secret Door leads to a Secret Mission and if you find all the keys and open all the doors you will complete all the missions and will get this achievement. The rarer the key – the harder the mission. After you have unlocked them in the missions you can play them immediately or access from the main menu later. To unlock this particular achievement you need to complete only 10 missions. For more information on where to find the Keys and Secret Doors you should check out the “All Collectible Locations (Lost Souls, Keys, Doors)” post.

- Now, start the Secret Mission “A Taste of Heaven”;
- Activate “Devil Trigger” at the very beginning;
- Hit “Select” or “Back” button on the D-pad and this will kill all the enemies;

When you collect enough, you can use the Red Orbs to purchase items from the Divinity Statues or from the main menu Shop.
