For those of you that owned a last gen console, what did you do with it once you bought a current gen one? Did you keep it, did you sell it?

I got into the habit of keeping my old consoles once I realized that I like to replay certain games from time to time. There's nothing more frustrating than remembering a good game that you liked to play only to realize you don't own the system anymore (or the game).

I almost always sell my old ones to help pay for the new ones. I do miss a game once in a while, but between the Xbox One and PS4, I have enough to keep me busy.

I think I still have an Atari 2600 in a box in the basement and a N64 somewhere, forget why I didn't sell them, maybe didn't get offered enough.

I do sell my old consoles if somebody is willing to buy them but for the most part all I sell are my games and not the console since I plan on preserving my console collection and probably introduce them to my kids when they're playing with their PS7's and Xbox whatevers. But I have a thing for playing old games so I probably won't bet on selling my consoles at the least.

I usually sell my old consoles, especially if the new replacement is backwards compatible. Unfortunately that wasn't the case with the XB1. I was hard up on cash and sold my 360 anyway and I regret it so much! There are so many good games that I still want to play on the 360 that I cant play on the One. I've even considered going back and getting a used 360. The console isn't quite "outdated" yet to me. It's really weird though, because most new consoles make the curren ones obsolete on launch day.

I usually sell the old consoles, but I kept the Xbox 360 since there's no backwards compatibility. There are still a number of games that I'll go back and play over the years. I don't have anything older than the 360, though. All of those games have been sold. Some consoles stay pretty valuable even after a few years, so it's always nice to get some extra cash.

Yea I usually trade in the old console to offset the cost for the new gen system, if I get that crazy itch to go back and play the old games you can usually find tons of the old systems for pretty cheap at GameStop, eBay etc. and the games dirt cheap, plus starting this gen it's looking like in the near future the old greats will be remastered or available on some sort of virtual console
