My daughter and I are probably unusual in being female fans of Dead of Alive Xtreme, because it has a lot of fanservice for males, like skimpy swimsuits and an island full of attractive young women playing beach volleyball and occasionally pole dancing in the casino. But to my daughter and I ,it's not just a solid beach volleyball game or eye candy (because we're perverts and a little bicurious), it's also an escapist fantasy vacation to a beautiful island and a virtual shopping spree, (and a thinly disguised dating sim). The first 2 games were fun but that was years ago, and now Dead or Alive 5 is out and has amazing graphics, a whole new look for the fighters and a new female mixed martial arts fighter.
Tecmo offered a pre order bonus of downloadable swimsuits for those who pre ordered Dead or Alive 5. So what do you think this means?
Is Tecmo trying to say "Here guys (and ladies), enjoy these downloadable swimsuits for the new ,super realistic Dead or Alive girls. That's all you're getting because we're not making another DOA Xtreme game."?
Or do you think it means "Check out these swimsuits, this is what you can look forward to in the next DOA Xtreme game, hint hint."?
I hope it's the former because those games are weirdly fun and it's a nice distraction to take a virtual vacation to a tropical island resort with a bunch of beautiful martial arts fighters who would normally be trying to kill each other in the main Dead or Alive fighting games. I wonder how the creators would explain Zack Island being brought back from the bottom of the sea a second time.
