Something I've noticed about video gaming is that the more I play, the less interested I get in it regardless of the game and it starts to feel like a chore rather than something to look forward to. When I take a break for a few days I seem to be much more motivated when it comes to powering through a game that I had been wanting to play. So what I want to know is how the amount of time you play affects the way you feel about gaming in general.

Well that's wher you look into purchasing games on replay value. Games that are primarily based for online play, like Call of Duty don't have huge playback values on the Campaign, so I can't really can I'm for or against agreeing with this topic.

I think that you are getting older. When I was a kid, any video game could captivate me and nowadays I sometimes feel fatigued. I guess I blame it on age, but whenever I'm playing with friends video games are awesome.

Yes and no. If I binge on a particular game for too long, I may lose interest. On the other hand, other games start to get even better as you see the results of your effort, such as Skyrim. That being said, even those games will eventually lose their grandeur,

This. I have to agree, and it seems like it changed almost over night. I am 30 now, but even a couple of years ago, I would stay up until 4 or 5 in the morning playing a game or finishing a task on a game. And I knew I would only get 3 or 4 hours of sleep. But I have stopped playing as much as of lately; mostly because my son is getting older and I don't like playing the game instead of playing with him. But when I do get the chance to play I find that I don't like playing for as long. Especially the same type of game. I find myself now playing a game, switching to a different type of game and then just saying "ehh this isn't doing it anymore" and turning off the box. I don't know if it's the age thing or just my priorities changing.

It's definitely from getting older...at least from me. When I was in high school I'd play for hours and hours, and want to play even more because I was getting better.

Now I'm still playing and getting better, but now I'm more interested in work, money, socializing, exercising, etc. I'll tell myself, "you'll have so much time tomorrow to play video games!" and then the day comes and I'm just not down for playing.

Heck, most of the FPS games that offer online I wont even get into the campaign modes. Right to the player versus player for me!

I feel the same exact thing but I'm just a teen and I feel that I can only play a game for an hour or two until it just feels pointless. This is unless its a new game. Sometimes I come home with the motives to play for hours but end up playing for just an hour. This especially happens with FPS because they are so pointless after campaign that it just bores me to death. Its kind of upsetting.

For me it's a little of both. Games are beginning to stagnate (it's not that i don't like to play my old favorite games on HD, but most of releases nowadays are upscaled old games) and i am having less time to play.

Sometimes i stop play for a week and then come back, that usually works and gives me a lot of motivation to keep playing!

Video games, to me, have reached a new level of boredom. I don't enjoy them like I use due. I think it is due to the demand that I expect so much. When I was a kid, I had Mario. I loved it and the game was so simple and now we expect graphics and gameplay to be at a much greater level than simple.

Right now, yeah - I'm pretty bored of gaming. When I think I'm up for playing something, I'll switch on the console and just stare and think of what to play for like 30 mins to an hour. I start a lot of games and then after 10-15 minutes I get bored. As with everybody else, it has to do with age. Maybe it's because every game that comes out now just feels like the previous game you played.

For me, gaming does get boring and it is because I spend so long on a certain game, rushing through to get as good as possible as quickly as possible in the least time played. Recently I've been trying to slow down and just enjoy it more, rather than just getting as good a possible and as quick as I can, I gotta say it feels like it is a lot more fun and it is keeping me a lot more entertained not to mention it'll keep me entertained for longer because I still have a lot more to do!

They say that too much familiarity bridges gap. That's what happens to games too. The more you play a game, the more you get used to it and eventually you get tired of it. That's where replay value comes in. The lower the replay value of a game, the easier you get tired of it.

Anything gets boring after a while, that's why its good to take breaks and enjoy something else. Highly addictive games like WOW and others even had tips like : take breaks every two hours. It's never good to fixate on something.
