Does the size of the screen of the TV you're playing your game on really make that much of a difference to you? To me it does. Give me that 60 inch plus bad boy so I can see every dimple, every hair and every screaming neon color whizzing past me on the screen.

afraid what the topic was about, 20-30 inches is the best, any bigger you will experience lag between your controller and the actual gameplay. :D

Hey I've always played on a 30 inch Tv, never tried a bigger Tv though I love the idea of playing on a huge screen, I can't wait to get one of those 60 inch 3D tv's to hook up my xbox with, but at the same time now that I read what the guy above me said, is that actually true? I've never heard about it, if so, could you ellaborate on it? I mean, if that was the case I don't think people would be buying the Tv's for gaming like most people are.

Cheers!

For me? yeah.

I need a good sized TV in order to see clearly.

i run the 50" non high def rear projection.
i might get a projector... maybe not

i also have a 20" High Def widescreen LCD computer monitor I play on sometimes
and a 26" non high def TV that usually is just for junking and testing modded consoles on

For me, I find it much easier to play on a smaller screen. From the times I have played on a big screen, I felt as if I could see enough of the screen because my eyes were having to scan more surface area. I typically try to play around 22 inches to 32 inches. Anything bigger or smaller it almost becomes unplayable for me.

I play on a 42' Flat Screen and the quality of the HD is so crisp.

I don't think the size matters as much as the quality. If you watch professional gaming at all online or go to an event, they typically play on 2X' inch screens, and they obviously have no problem.

I have a rich friend who has basically a theater in his basement, and that screen is so big. Even sitting three rows back I had to move my head from left to right just to see the entire screen.

Smaller TV...sit closer and it seems bigger. Bigger TV...move back to see everything. It's all relative to me. But if you go from a cheap tube TV with only the R/W/Y av cables to a Flat Screen TV with HD or something like that, that's where the gaming gets good.

But like anybody who asks what's the best weapon in a game, which video game is best...you need to figure that out for yourself. Go with what you like. I sit very close and smaller TVs are better for me because I feel "in the game" and just react a lot better. Some like surround sound, a huge TV where they can just feel better. But in the end, it's what you like and what you prefer (and what makes you play the best). But if you don't have a good quality TV...you're definitely missing out!

It does not make a huge difference for me, I mean I like to play on a big screen (the bigger... the better) but if a don't have the option to play on a big screen I'll play on a small screen without a problem. I think that the games are so interesting nowadays that you get into it really fast and after a few minutes your focused %100 on the game and you forget about the TV.

Do you have any links or references for this claim or are you just pulling stuff out of your ass? I've never heard of anything like this before and even if there was a small difference it would be with resolution not size which would be irrelevant considering there are only really 2 resolutions for large flat screen TV's nowadays (720p and 1080p).

To me size doesn't really matter; even though i play on a 65 inch tv. I haven't played on a small display for a really long time now so i guess it'd take a little getting used to if i ever had to in the future. Many years back i used to PC game on my small 20 inch monitor, it was never a concern for me back in those times. I would say the resolution matters more than the actual size of the display.

nope, it doesn't matter! the only thing that matters is to have a HD display in order to have a clear image. at the moment consoles don't have computer graphics so a smaller tv might make the image look better, but that's another subject.

Very silly thread title! Anyway, I prefer to play on average size TVs. Say, around 30-40 inches. Not huge, not small. Just perfect. Too small might make it hard to notice details and too big may be hard to have a view of all of the screen at once, so a medium sized TV is perfect for me.

The size of the TV that I play on hasn't ever been too much of an issue or focus for me, I have a PSP and the screen on it is just enough for me, but I guess it would depend on the game being played. Racing games are fun on a big screen to get into the game, but music games, like Rockband really need a bigger room than a TV ;)
But, usually, any size display is enough for me!

If you have friends over that play on your console, thes yes (for obvious reasons). Although I find myself enjoying my gaming-experience a lot more when i have a small screen all to myself. I've played a 40 ft projector before, THAT was prettyawesome.

I mainly use a 27 inch t.v but I also sometimes use a 17inch t.v and for me it doesn't make a difference simply because when i'm on the smaller screen I'm a lot closer to the t.v and it doesn't seem to make a difference the only thing that makes a difference for me is if I sit too far away then its difficult to see what is actually going on because everything seems smaller

I upgraded from a really old TV to a 47in LED a fey years ago, and I do not regret that decision.
I play in a big room, and the TV seems appropriate for my gaming needs.
Now I'm thinking about getting a projector to my bedroom, I don't know yet :)

I've never understood the appeal of playing on a large television. One, it's usually extremely expensive to get a large, 720/1080p HD Television and I don't feel like wasting money on it just for gaming, and two, you have to sit farther back which just feels like crap to me, and if you sit to close, you are really limiting yourself with your own peripheral vision. I use a 22inch monitor that I also use with my computer, 1080P, 1920x1080 resolution and it's more then perfect for me. Just the right distance from my chair to the desktop and if I'm in a long lobby, I can simply switch over to the Computer and browse around or put it on my second monitor.

Misleading thread title lol it all depends how far away from the tv you sit in my opinion.

of course size does matter. Think of it this way, OK; would you rather play a game on your smart phone or on a 60" plasma screen. Don't even answer that, I already know your answer, ;p hehehehe

What matters the most is the lag between the console and the screen. Aside from that, i prefer a screen with maximum 30 inches, being more than that just a waste.

50 to 60 is as high as I can go when playing X-box. 27 inch is as low as I go when playing. 45 inches though...is overall the best. Anything smaller than 27 kills the experience for me. And anything over 60 inches is kind of seizure-inducing.
