Ok, so apparently the "Friends List" is like Twitter, people Follow you then if you follow them back they are your "Friend". This is pretty stupid IMHO. I don't want random people to follow me, which has already happened. I want to control who can Follow me.

I think you opinion is in the minority since the "Followers" system has had a warm welcome. I personally appreciate it since i can have y readers follow without having to friend them. Also I like following some of my favorite game journalist or celebrities so that I can play games like Forza against their Drivevatars.

Yeah, it does seem similar to Twitter, doesn't it? Except there are privacy differences between your friends and your followers. I saw this on Daily Tech:

Users will be able to follow anyone they want, and will be up to that person to decide if they will follow you back. If the person does follow you back, a more interactive relationship is established unlocking the ability for both users to see information about each other including when they are online, achievements they've earned, and what they're doing on the Xbox One console.

Yeah, I agree it does sound much similar to twitter but personally, I don't mind the fact that I have followers. This just means that people want to know me and play with me. This makes Xbox One more like a semi social media device.

I haven't really noticed if I had followers, but either way, I'm not against it. Well it's an online console anyways so no one can stop anyone from following someone like in twitter. Maybe the reason why microsoft had this added is probably another way to make people interact with each other. Having followers may seem like a compliment.

I wouldn't mind followers. Sounds like a nice system to get into when I get my Xbox One. I'm slowly uploading some of my game acheivements online in Steam so hey, why not do it on Xbox One right? Plus, it is a part of my job so I';ll have to get into this one.

Same here, having followers isn't a bad thing. I see this as like having people who like you.

There are privacy settings to hide your account. Go to live on the web and under the privacy options you will see some options.

I have most options set to "friends" not "everyone".

I don't see it as a bad thing having followers. I mean, it just means that they want to play with you or they like you or maybe see you as a challenge. Or maybe they just want to simply befriend you. Either way, I'm open to this. No complaints about it.

I'm with Kn1ghtmare on this one, now I don't gotta friend someone and they don't have to miss out on M3H 3P1C 5W3G :p

Plus as it's been said already you can just change you're privacy settings on either the actual console or on xbox.com

Yeah, just change the privacy settings and you're off the list.
