Hi guys im new to the forum. So dont flame me if this has been asked loads of times already. But one thing that has been annoying me is the fact that I want to download games instead of having discs but why are the downloadable games so much more expensive than disc copies. If anything they should be cheaper because of production for the discs and case etc.

Thanks
Dingle

As far as I see, they're the same exact price. I downloaded a coupe of games and saw no difference.

I did check a couple of times and I noticed that there isn't any difference on the price whether it's a downloaded game or the physical disc. Sorry pal. no luck on the prices. You can try checking on it from time to time. Possibly after the holiday season things will get cheaper.

Yeah of course. For instance bf4 ac4 cod ghosts forza5 are all £54.99 but I recently went out and bought them in a supermarket all priced at £47.
Even on internet sites like amazon its priced at £45-48. Im here in the UK.

I usually find that Amazon is a few dollars cheaper anyways. Also, a lot of stores may be running sales on the games as a way to get people in the store possibly? The downloadable game definitely should not cost any more than the disc game. I'm sure the MSRP is the same on the disc game.

Ah yes, you're in the UK. Well, there was news a few weeks ago where Microsoft bumped up pricing of the games for Xbox One digitally. Microsoft's explanation was there were some factors they considered that had them decide to bump up the price. For other territories, this has not happened so until then, you'll have to deal with the increased price. Yeah, hopefully it's just temporary and the price will go down.

Yes, Microsoft recently did price hiking for digital games there. Though I know it only applied to their first-party games like Ryse and Dead Rising 3. So maybe it increased also for third-party games? Hmmmm... I'll do more research and see hwy.
