I was reading an article on the internet and it was saying that the sales of the Xbox one has increased since they dropped the kinect. I was wondering when they were going to make a move like this one because to me the kinect isn't really worth it right now in my books.

Do you guys like the kinect?

By the way just in case you wanted to read the article about the sales increase you could read it below:

I never really liked the kinect I remember I bought one for my Xbox 360 and I liked it for a few days but then I got really annoyed with it really quickly.

I don't use or honestly like the connect. I think the sales are up because Microsoft isn't forcing the consumer to buy something that isn't for everyone. The kinect is a cool piece of technology but not many hardcore gamers use it imo.

I already ditched the Kinect once I got everything set up and never used it again. Not that I have anything against the Kinect, it's just that I'm not a fan of motion gaming as a whole. I never got anything motion gaming related on the last gen, I only have the Kinect because it was bundled with the Xbox.

I really like the voice commands from the Kinect, but you could obviously do that without the extra peripheral. Otherwise, I would junk it or sell it to someone else. It's not that useful for anything else, and gaming with the Kinect is a relatively lackluster affair.

Kinect is a cool piece of tech, just not for me. And judging by the increase in sales, countless other gamers feel the same way. Offering versatility and options for players is great to do, considering the price point of the XBox One, but forcing features and hardware is a big no no.

The kinect is pretty cool it annoys me sometimes you have to scream at it smack it up a Lil for it to understand you I use it for the working out. I think people who just want to sit on the couch and just play years I get it sit back relax and play but is good also to get up and move imagine kinect and the oculus rift.

The idea of voice commands is good but i dont really need it. I mean i can just hit the selections with my controller. I dont want to yell at my console all day for something i can easily do. I have used the kincet on the 360 before but its not my style.

I use mine a lot just takes some getting used to and I like how some of the motions are used in Dead Rising 3 ,which is 1 of the main reasons I got the X Box One.

Not surprised that the sales went up. No one wants the stupid thing and it doesn't even work well anyway. Look at the last few scandals like the Aaron Paul thing where the console was responding to the video more than the players themselves. That's rediculous. It's a POS that should not be charged for

I believe that Microsoft is slowly ditching the Kinect quietly. So far I've not seen a game being announced for the Kinect or anything related to the Kinect for that matter. I know that MS said that they have no plans to give it up but we all know about MS's decisions.

I like the Kinect for system navigation and the like. I use the voice nav for my kids, so they don't have to touch a controller and they can fire up netflix of amazon on their own.

Goes straight to kid movies for them. I also like how it recognizes faces.

I've two XB1s - a Day One edition and one that's sans kinect due to the price drop. I do plan on getting a kinect for it eventually - wanted a second box for myself only so I'd not have to dance around the kids TV shows (or my wifes for that matter).

Honestly, I'm looking for a 3rd box soon....

I was a HUGE Kinect supporter initially. However the lack of anything really for it, problems getting it to work well enough and
finally MS unbundling it from the consoles, I have removed it.

The price is a bit over the top, but I actually like it. Especially for Netflix. I used to hate having to get up to get the controller, now I can just shout at my Kinect. :P I bet my roommates hate it doe.

I honestly think the Kinect is an utter failure, I mean, if people really do liked it they would've bought it happily with the Xbox One. The problem with MS is that they thought they can just slip it into our lives and hope we won't mind. I guess they learn that some people aren't as dumb as they originally thought. As for the Kinect itself, I find it really useless. It's the same thing as 3D TV's, I mean sure it sounds cool at the time but then you realize there's not much of a function for it.

It was a novel idea but over time, it has become a lackluster accessory that is so unnecessary. Like others, I was sold on the technology initially, but now I realize i don't even notice its still part of my entertainment stand. Microsoft must realize it was a flop since there hasn't been much released to fully utilize it. Aside from a few games, it is useless.

Totally agree with you. I think it's MS getting bummed out because it was such a flop that they can't accept the fact that they wasted a of money creating something that would be rendred useless 5 weeks after it's release. But I think what made it flopped is the lack of support from MS. I think if they put more effort on making the Kinect really work and providing the software that would really make it worth our time then I would gladly shut up and let MS take my money. Just for that I hated MS, I mean you don't see Sony choking the PS Move to everybody.
