all things: EA ACCESS (formally ea access launched today)

That didn't take long! Electronic Arts just said its newly-announced subscription service EA Access is officially live on the Xbox One. That means all gamers who own Microsoft's current-gen console can download the app through the app store and start using it today for $4.99 or a full-year subscription for $30

i downloaded the app but have not subscribed yet... still plan to.. i really need to find or buy a decent 2-8tb external hd i am pretty deep in my game library and usage... with the 4 games i have a feeling i would be maxed out... id still like to get sunset overdive and have destiny on pre order so i know my space is about used up...

I'm not into EA games too much so I won't be using the service. The only game down the line that is a must-have for me is DA Inquisition and one game doesn't justify the subscription. I guess for anyone big on EA games especially those annual games than it's bang for buck for them.

Yeah it won't be on the PS4, wonder why Xbox went ahead with it, it already has live... and EA is so greedy they'll find some way to milk out more and more money from its subscribers.

i am really debating getting it.. my only drawback atthis point is my hd would be full or very close... i really need a 1-3tb external hd and i would get the ea access...

i have destiny pre ordered and am really considering sunset overdrive... that along with games with gold will probably put me at or very close to christmas being maxed out unless they do a big games with gold like 15-30g game in which case id probably be maxed out by end of October...

4 mid 15-30g games +gold and destiny i would have to start deleting games and doing reinstall when i wanted to play and that to me is annoying... i think out of the box day 1 the hd was my biggest argument/disappointment.. i really never thought games with gold would happen so fast... i also never thought i would be 10 or so games on my console already... i am a very very bad gamer in terms of buying titles... i either buy early/pre order or i end up passing...

but i really do like the vault access that ea access is offering.. sports games are not my cup of tea but its 3 big title sports games(any way you look at it) with fifa, madden, nba id say pass on peggle but even bf4... those are 4 big titles at or around launch any way you look at it... i would honestly play all of them just to play them and give me something to do.. and really for 30bux its really what has me wanting the subscription... i would think/expect 4-8 games put in the vault by christmas next year... that is 1-2 games per quarter... with a total of 8-12 total games in vault that are playable... and think if all they really do is every year switch out the sports games.. its still 3-4 of the biggest sports games on console..

so has anyone gotten ea access?
i am tentatively waiting till after september1st.. see what games with gold gives us...

i actually have the money in paypal waiting to be deposited or go to ea access.. i will get the full year if i do it.

so i had a idea of sorts... i wonder if ea will be more inclined to release vault games to games with gold.. concidering they will have an ea subscription where a older game would get more play (nfl, nba ect ect) than it should.. how would you guys feel if say bf4 was given away for free with games with gold and it be in the vault..

i am also curious to how many games they plan to vault in a year.. i know ive said i could see 1-2 a quarter added but in reality xb1 dosnt have that many games produced by ea to really fill that number.. i wish they had moere of a layout or transparent plan with how ea eaccess will work..not that iw ould be pissed at 2 games in a year added but i dont think i would feel it was worth the money unless it was a much bigger game.. its not like ea is making xbox id indie games..

so who all has anything to say about ea access..

I am undecided on it really. A couple bucks a month for access to a lot of games seems like a great thing, but there has to be a good reason Sony passed on it,

for 30 a year its a decent buy.. i dont have one of the games in the vault... im in the air how i feel about them bundling early acces to games and putting demo's behind the "pay wall" but i guess thats the incentive to 30 bux a year...

i just wish they were more transparent in how it will work.. is it a quarterly thing? will games get added to vault say 1 or 2 every 3 months or is it a 6 moth get 1 more game thing... i assumethis time next year the nba/nfl,nhl games will get added in or rotated to the vault..

games i can see or think will show up in the vault are... plants vs zombies, need for speed...
i cant see titanfall since its not really a ea game even tho its under origin/ea.. i do think for some if this gets added it would be a big plus.. the price is down to like 29bux in xbox marketplace.. its plummeted hard....

but really im so torn on when to committo my "first year" of ea.. as of right now its 4 games and even tho they are a year old they still are played a good bit because of ea access and the fact not everyone has the hot new stuff...

im just so torn... i am getting destiny and 90% on sunset overdrive.. id like to get master cheif collection as well... thats 2-3 big games in the next 3 months that will take up a good chunk of time.. but right now those 4 games are a quick place holder... i jst dont see me playing them much for next 6 months than it becomes i spent money for 4 games that i basically let sit.. its not like if ea pulls them from the vault i get to keep them..

I am going to look at it a little more and see, but I have Metro Redux coming tomorrow and just got a PS4 so I have a lot to play right now.

Not really. Sony only passed on it because it's directly competing with their PS+ service. As Microsoft gives away exclusive games to all Gold users there isn't as much as a conflict of interest as in Sony's case.

If you are going to be playing the games they offer as well as have a desire to play early access EA titles then it's a really good deal IMO

well need for speed was added to the vault

and i found this link today
EA Access still has a line-up issue
At the moment, EA Access has a rather limited selection of titles on offer, including FIFA 14, Madden NFL 14, Battlefield 4, and the recently-added Need for Speed Rivals.

Electronic Arts has said that the Vault area will include more than 100 games soon, but it’s unclear how fast they will be added to the service.

Those who are ready to subscribe also get price cuts for upcoming major releases and for all DLC that is being introduced, although Wilson is probably not referring to those offers when he talks about the extra value that gamers get access to.

so after all the talk i finally bi the bullet and purchased 1 year of ea access...

first thing to mention.. its a 1 year for 29.99+tax... but read it very closley its an auto draft... so as soon as you get it go to xbox.com inthe billing section and turn off the auto draft or it will pull it or try to from whatever source you have linked to xb1.. credit card,paypal... not sure how they would pull money if you just loaded money and left no billing option but its a note worthy mention..

obviously its straigh forward.. you pay go to the vault and select whatever games in the vault you want.. click in stall and walla it puts things in queue till they install.
seems like the first run of games are all in the 12-16gb range except peggle which is at 2-3gb... this plus games with gold could put a hurting on storage space...recommend a external hd 2-4tb

we all know the games... bf3,fifa14,madden25,need for speed,pegle2 for some reason i reamember a nba game or thought one was in the vault but its gone or i was dreaming...

why i am not a "sports gamer" i do feel the 30 bux is a good trade off.. yes the games are last years sports games.. and i think this will be the trend for ea access.. if they keep old sports games or just roll over to the last years model im still ok with it..
i will enjoy madden25 havnt played a madden in years.. (kinda exited) im sure i will suck but i dont have to play mut or online pvp so im ok with it..
ive watched peggle2 loos mindless yet frustrating.. im sure ill play it a good bit.. just for kicks and gamerscore stuff
i like racing and well need for speed is never my cup of tea... (project cars) is a big want and looking forward to.. but again its a decent game and its got cars.. since its bundled in for the 30 i dont feel like im forced to enjoy it as much as try it openly ... i wouldnt buy it for full price but given the opportunity why not see what its about.
fifa14.. lol i think its the worst sports game i have ever played... im not a scoccar fan and well the game mechanics are so off i really didnt like it...
battle feild 4 already had it but seems i wont need my disk so odds are i will trade it in towards sunset overdrive.. (super excited for that game )
fifa was my first download with ea access... and it was a huge dissapointment.. i cant say i will play it much ifany at all.. but than again i may give it a try later..

what really prompted me to purchase the ea access was stated above but with destiny down the last 2 days i wanted something to play new and didnt want a "new" game price.. again the games are not block busters and i dont see the purchase as a huge bang for the buck for crunching the numbers its still a deal if you bought the same games in the vault used..

i have not used ea access to get in on a demo or early access... this again is more towards the sports games lie nhl or new nfl15 where you could try it days before or got early access.. and i dont think i will use it for the discount on expansion/dlc content as that is a hard sell for me to begin with.. most of it is already on the disk just need a code to unlock.. maybe if bf4 was a better game i would have gone premium but at this point its to far gone to commit...

if the dragen age inquisition game gets a demo or limited play(2-4hrs) i could see me trying it and possibly buying it... but that would be the only game i see in near furture that i may use the ea access for more than the vault...

so has anyone else gotten in on the ea access at this point?

I already own 3 of the 5 games and don't like soccer so going to wait until more games are added.

yea i dont think ea access is great if you have already purchased a few of the games... but for me i didn't have a single game in the vault.. so it was 5 total games that i got for 30 bux.. i find that a good deal within the first year release of a new console.. im siting at 20-23 games at the moment thats more than i own for 360..

i still think fifa14 is the worst game ive plaed to date lol...

anyone with an active subscription to EA Access can download the Second Assault expansion pack for Battlefield 4 starting January 29 and through February 28, free of charge.

All you need to do is find it on the EA Access Hub app on Xbox One.

Battlefield 4 is itself part of the games available through EA Access, without any DLC. This is will be the first piece of DLC to added to the game through the service.

http://www.vg247.com/2015/01/29/battlefield-4-second-assault-dlc-free-to-all-ea-access-members/

another positive addition to ea access.. i mean bf4 is already in the vault.. so it is good news they may dabble with free dlc for vault games as well.. it may open the door to more ea access content.. i kinda figured at first they would be on a 2 month cycle for game content.. it may shorten that time frame all together... it also helps them keep games active that would otherwise die out... all in all i think ea is doing well with ea access and how it is running so far.

ok so its not as easy to find "second assult for bf4" its not in the vault

you need to:

open ea access

go to browse vault

on top left go to "show all" or click directly on battle field 4 (may show free in vault if you already have it bf4 downloaded)

go to far left where it shows addons (you want to click on the 3 (...) dots at the bottom.

once it bring you to all dlc add on content find the second assault and click on it/download. it will prompt you like a purchase but says free for ea access or someting on those lines. it is like 4.42gb fwiw.

don't forget ea access:) the last game was battelfeild hardline(oct 2015).. and I would suspect another game is added soon/new year..
