Xbox 360 EA announces cancellation of NBA Live 13

Wow, big surprise here (sarcasm). How the mighty fall for a third year in a row. EA scared of 2K again. If the NBA had an exclusive developer of a licensed game like the NFL does, then I'm sure they would outbid 2K again. NFL 2K5 is still the best football game of the last 10 years.

We also made a commitment to deliver a high quality experience — this is what our fans expect and what we demand of ourselves at EA SPORTS. But making great games is not easy, and we're just not there yet on NBA LIVE 13.

This wasn't an easy decision, but it's the right one for our fans. I hope you'll agree when you're able to play the game next year.

lol, I remember playing NBA on my PSP and it was like the best built game it had. Now look at EA. Oh how times change.

EA made the right decision of not releasing NBA Live 13. They just tend to rehash most of their sports games. They saw the features of NBA 2k13 and was probably shocked to find that it was leaps and bonds better than their mediocre live 2013 game. If EA tried to push through with live, nobody would have even bothered to purchase the game aside for some die-hard EA fans.

I honestly don't think the NBA Live games have been that popular for the past few years. With Madden and NHL games being so popular, I just don't see anyone playing the NBA games that much.

NBA Live games used to be great but man, they went downhill and the 2K basketball games always ended up great. Happens I guess. I liked the Live games back in the mid 2000's.
