Energy Hook is a grapple-and-swing-and-run-on-walls-for-style game by Jamie Fristrom, creator of the Spider-Man 2 game. In this action game based on a futuristic sport, you use an energy hook -- a tractor-beam device normally used in construction re-purposed by young athletes out for a thrill -- to make the remains of the world your own extreme underground playground. The players use their home-made energy hook gauntlets to swing through obstacle courses, racing in winner-gets-your-tech competitions, competing in speed and style.

This game is a complete mystery. There's almost nothing about it online. Looks a little like mirror's edge in the pictures tho.

Apparently the guy stopped the development for now until he ports another game of his "Sixty Second Shooter" to the XBox One.

The whole "grapple and swing and run on walls" part had me thinking of Tomb Raider, but after seeing the YouTube clip, I'm completely unimpressed. The graphics don't look like they're anywhere near as good as what a One game could be.

It sounded interesting until I watched that video. Even as an early build, it looks terrible, although the concept of the energy hook works decently. There are too many other games that I'd rather play before I'd ever consider this one after the video, though. It sounds incredible as a concept, but I can see that it loses all its magic in practice. And the Spiderman influence is too prevalent for my liking, although there's nothing wrong with Spiderman.
