As we all know, the Xbox One is being pre-ordered from around the world (excluding some countries) and they are rapidly producing as many consoles as they can make, but it seems like they can't keep up. There are so many online marketplaces that have sold out on the Xbox One, and the PS4 too, even Target and Gamestop. There are so many articles about stock issues, etc.

My question is, do you think Microsoft or Sony will be able to produce enough consoles to satisfy everyone that wants to buy it? I personally think not, and they haven't learned their lesson on stock yet. I think they expected to pass the number of 360 sales by a little, but apparently not.

I doubt it, the race is on and we're bound to see quality development issues with the launch consoles because of it. But should be interesting to see how it shapes up at the end of the year.

It's impossible ....
There will be shortages everywhere! Amazon is not even sure to satisfy everyone.

I imagine that it will be difficult to find a PS4 or Xbox One. Pre-orders exceed all expectations! Plants must work at full capacity at the moment.

It will be launching very special console! A real battle between Sony and Microsoft!
You must pre-order now for the console!

Of course they'll be able to keep up. Any shortages might even either be on purpose or hyped up a bit -- get people to pre-order in the fear of not getting one later. It's economics. It's a smart business decision. Anyone who wants one will eventually be able to get their hands on it, no problem

No, but that's why there are pre-orders to begin with. They have a certain number that they know they can provide, after which they don't offer pre-orders. If for some reason one of those stores sells more pre-orders than there are consoles, it's the stores problem unless Microsoft (or Sony) misrepresented the figures to begin with. This isn't the first time they've done this and I expect they have everything more or less under control.

The funny thing is, I haven't pre-ordered mine yet. I think I'll hold off and play some GTA V until more comes in though.

At launch they will most likely make enough to get all the preorders and no more. Then gradually over time they will be replenishing the stocks but it will take some time, so if you are serious about getting one, even in like the first month after the release, you might as well preorder it.In the UK the Xbox is much more popular than the PS3 so here the stock will burn down in a matter of days.

I'm telling you right now, both consoles will have lots of bugs. I think both will sell out pretty fast considering they are both so reputable. There are xbox and playstation fans everywhere, so selling the consoles won't be the problem. I'm gonna wait it out though and see which one is better.

I think both companies have a pretty good track record for software now and have ample time to test that part of it. The hardware and just producing it is where the issue lies.

There's plenty to do if you decide to hold off. Since the announcement of the new consoles, I knew I wouldn't be buying them anytime soon. I really like the idea of both the Xbox One and the PS4, but I'm not going to spend that much money on anything.
