Ok, I'll start by saying, I guess I should know the answers to the following questions but I'm stumped. Also, I'm checked the support section of the site and didn't see any answers. Any assistance will be much appreciated.

1) Can Forza 5 be played offline? It appears as if I can only play against others.
2) Is there a way to avoid Kinect from picking up hand movements while watching Live TV?
3) I've read that the XB1 doesn't have a battery indicator on the dash like the 360 did. Is there a way to know how much battery life is left?
4) Does anyone have/know of a cheat sheet for setting up a second account on the XB1. When I tried, it looked as if it wanted to only set up the account as a guest.
5) Am I missing something... Aside from changing your avatar (from the 360), where does it reside? On the 360, it had its own animated panel on the dashboard.
6) At this point, is there a way to add a background to the dashboard like you could on the 360?

Thanks!

J

1. You are not actually playing against others. You are playing against their Driveatars, which are AI versions of people (mostly on your friends list) which drive and react like those people do in-game. That's a feature that uses the cloud and has been a marketing push for Forza. The drive realistically enough to make you think they're real people.

2. No. Unless you consciously avoid doing anything that resembles hand-gestures. Likewise you can always disconnect it.

3. So far I would say no, or at least I haven't noticed any indicator. Then again I also haven't the battery die, so maybe you get some sort of warning. Maybe a similar feature will be patched in.

4. You can just select to create a new one, but you will have to enter email information since a Microsoft account is needed for all users. Simply go to the sign in section and select new user.

5. There is no dedicated section for Avatars. Expect this to be integrated later...possibly.

6. There is no way of customizing the background and prior to release this was confirmed. Right now black is just a default and there has been no official announcement of more options being added in the future.

Thanks Ni1ghtmare! Feels like I should know the answer to those questions... Such a noob at times :)

I have a question about the log in and other users as well. Since this is for my family, I will set up the main account for me and the log in will be my name and password. But what happens when my 8 year old wants to play his games.... I have no problem with him using my name or profile since he currently does this on my PS3, but that auto logs and he doesn't have to type in a password, he just goes to the main profile and hits x and he is in. Since the kinnect has to see the person or hear their voice, can anyone come in the room and say xbox on and get it to come on? If my wife wants to watch tv when I am not home, can she turn it on by voice and change channels, even if she has no profile or plays games at all? I guess I just don't understand how it works. I hope I don't have to create profiles for everyone in my family just to be able to use the system for anything or everything....

It is not limited to your voice or facial profile. Anyone can use voice control to turn the console on or control the tv. You can also sign in via the controller regardless of who. I would suggest just creating a profile for each member of the family so they can each pin the favorite games or apps. Remember you only need one gold account per console and so everyone can enjoy gold benefits. You will however need to create a Microsoft account for each new user.

Thanks for the info... That is what I am trying to avoid.... I don't want each person in my family with a Microsoft account. As long as my kids can start it, load their games and play them, I am fine.... and as long as the wife can watch tv without any major problems and work the dvr, we are good. This is the Christmas gift, so I cant try it till then... just trying to get a feel for how it works so I can be ready.... I have the day one gold card for one year ready to go...

Since I didn't have a 360, can I sign up online before I set it up (or can you) for xbox live? Or should I just wait and set it up when I get the xbox set up...

Wait so you don't start reducing you gold membership yet.
