With online gyms comprised of your friends, smart gameplay changes, and improvements to Legacy mode, Fight Night Champion is more than your usual collection of modest EA Sports improvements. Some areas shine brighter than others, but the developer’s inspired Champion mode is the star feature that must be experienced.

This fast-paced boxing game improves upon its predecessor in just about every way, and adds an entertaining story mode to boot.

Compared to the last two games, Champion is much more evolutionary than revolutionary, but the series remains one of the 360’s finest sports sims — and it requires almost no boxing knowledge to understand or enjoy it. Landing a big punch feels more satisfying than ever, and if you give the game enough time, you’ll find it’s infinitely more than just a pretty face.

Fight Night Champion gets the boxing right and adds a flawed but enjoyable story mode. I've always put a lot of stock in career modes, but Legacy mode here is just downright bad. The mini-games are too tough and get boring fast. The entire concept just seems off.

As for all of the games. This one definitely has the opponents adjusting to your fight style. So stick to it and weave a lot. Got to work on a lot of counter game on this. My roommate has this on the PS3, so I had been playing it. After getting tired of the constant open wounds and the games no ability to change them, I realize this is an even worse version than Round 4. The game does focus on the story made primarily, so that veers away.

Overall, an average score by me.
