Xbox 360 Game freezing

I've got this problem where every time I try to fast travel the game freezes and stops working.
I've tried trading disks with a friend and it was the same, he played fine with my copy and I couldn't with his.
This led me to believe the problem was with the installation, so I uninstalled from the drive and re-installed with his copy.
The problem stayed the same, still no fast travel for me
Any ideas for fixing this problem?

Try clearing your HDD cache. Link here as to how: How to Clear Xbox 360 System Cache | Xbox Support - Xbox.com - Xbox.com

This will delete some updates, but you will lose no game data whatsoever. I've cured a few problems with freezing this way, one of which made my Ninja Gaiden II freeze every time I tried to use a certain weapon. If this doesn't fix your problem, I'd contact support (I know, Microsoft has a duzy of a support line, but it may be necessary). Good luck!

Sometimes loading up new parts of the world can put strain on the cpu, and if there's no short memory to be had, it'll just be a no go. I agree that clearing the cache is a good idea, cluttered memory just causes huge problems in general so bear that in mind.
