Jade Empire, for instance. It was one of those fantastic multiple choice RPG games where your decisions affected the outcome of the plot. I honestly think that original xbox games did this the absolute best. Knights of the Old Republic is like this too.

Can any of you think of games (For the Xbox/Xbox 360) where the decisions you make generate a new story line each time, or an alliance.

I think the game Catherine for Xbox 360 has some of what you are describing. A lot of the choices you make affect the outcome of the game and there are multiple endings. It really is a great game, one of my favorites on Xbox 360. I wish they would make more original games like that instead of just churning out sequel after sequel of similar looking games.

I agree, Catherine does feature a nice feature system, but i would suggest something like Fable, specially the first one, which changes the gameplay depending on your choices.

The Mass Effect series is one of the best examples of this, if you ask me. I've replayed Mass Effect 2 and 3 multiple times simply because of the different possibilities in the story. Some of them center around being good/evil, but some of them just kind of depend on the situation. Either way, I think it adds a lot to the gameplay and gives gamers a lot of incentive to replay the game.

Spec Ops:The Line is another one. It's a really good game and every choice you make matters. There are, I think 2-3 endings, and all of them are great! The storyline is well-written, and the graphics and gameplay is awesome. Would recommend it if you haven't played t yet.

That's weird, I didn't know there were different endings. Without spoiling anything, I think I know of one part at the tail end of the game that may result in a different ending. Other than that, I don't know if there were that many choices. Still, it was a surprisingly good game (and I was already expecting it to be good) with an interesting and engaging story. The gameplay was pretty good too, if not a little standard. I recommend it, too. It's a nice break from the Call of Duty and Battlefield types without deviating too much.

I loved the Mass Effect trilogy specifically because of this. There's so much replay value as each and every bit of dialogue can affect your playthrough, be it in a good way or in a bad way. I've gone through that game countless times and registered countless hours on it, it was probably the best £40 i've spent on a game in a long, long time!

Mass Effect is really the best example of this. It made you feel like your playthrough was unique, that your story based on your decisions was one in a million. Many games tried to emulate such a feeling, having the story branch out based on your decisions. But in the end these decisions merely feel like switches on railroad tracks, something that serves to give you more of a decision based experience but overall, the game leads the way. Mass Effect is the only one in my opinion that succeeded in creating a vibrant story, that came alive with your decisions. Making you not feel like the game was merely providing you with railroad switches, but a chance to take the story wherever you wanted to take it.
