This game is one that I was really looking forward to and quite eager to play, especially after me and my friend had tried out the demos and since then were hooked.

I have to say that after getting the game we were quit disappointed. You are "guided" through every step of the game and rarely have the chance to explore for yourself or take different paths etc. The game itself is a walk-through where you just have to shoot some people on the way. There was so much to look forward to after trying the demo and being shown all the interesting interactions you can have with your mate while fighting the bad guys, but that was sadly all there was to it. I, unfortunately, would not recommend this game to anyone

I agree. I played through the entire game hoping that it would improve at some point. I have heard they are making a third Army of Two game to be released sometime this year. Hopefully there will be some improvements in that game. I've played the second game as well, which was better than the first but it still has a long way to go before it's a "great" game.

I've looked at gameplay for the third Army of Two game, and it looks just about as disappointing. Gone are Salem and Rios, and now there's just two nameless characters. The story looks cliched, and the gameplay looks generic. I'm sure it'll be fun with a buddy, but the game's not going to be on any GOTY lists any time soon.

We weren't disappointed. My brother and I played it together and we think that as long as there are two people playing, it's pretty good. I wouldn't want to do a single player of it, I think.

I think to get the full enjoyment from this game you have to play it with a friend. If you play through this game with just the AI, it seems that it just isn't as fulfilling. Just my opinion though.

I think it might also be because I went into the games expecting nothing. I didn't find it any more than a walk-through than, say, a Call of Duty or Gears of War but I didn't try the demo and I didn't expect any exploration or lots of interactions or anything. I only expect a fun, solid shooter to play with someone else and I feel like that's what I got.

I think it does have something to do with the cooperation angle. I enjoyed playing along with another human, too, but it would have been dead boring with just an AI. The real-life interaction definitely improved the on-screen interactions!

It's a shame that the general impression seems to be negative - I was thinking of getting this some time, but I guess I might rent it first to try it out. I tend to play alone, so if the AI isn't up to much then I probably won't enjoy it much. Glad I saw this thread before blowing my cash on it!

I don't know anything about this game, but I assumed from the title that it would be two people playing. It seems pointless to even try to play it one-player when it's Army of *Two* anyway.
