Below are the achievements for Halo 4, along with the number of achievement points you’ll receive and a summary on how to get each achievement.

Halo 4 Achievement List:
There are 49 achievements with a total of 1000 points.

Dawn 10

Completed mission 1 on any difficulty.

Complete Mission 1 “Dawn” either Solo or Cooperatively. This achievement can´t be missed. Just play the campaign on any difficulty: Easy, Normal, Heroic or Legendary. But here are some tips that should make things easier.
Of course, the very first mission of Halo 4 is pretty easy unless you plan to finish it on the Legendary. You will be introduced to the basics like controls and stuff. Kill enemies, move forward, kill more enemies, move forward again. When you get outside, try to kill all the enemies in the area before going inside. Instantly run to the next objective and press X to activate the cutscene. This will help you to spawn the next time with no enemies trying to kill you.
Also, here are some general rules that you should follow.
1. Never waste ammo cause this is the only thing that will keep you alive. I know that it may look like you have a plenty of those but as it appears – not plenty enough. You will have enough time to aim properly and the more headshots you perform, the more ammo you will safe for other enemies. Also, it might be a good idea to save rail gun for Knights and do not waste its ammos on Promethean Crawlers
2. In the missions you will have to deal with different enemies that require different strategy. Of course, you can always kill them using whatever you have but a little strategy will come in handy.
- Grunts: the best option to kill those things is to soot in the head with DMR, BR, Magnum or Light Rifle. These weapons will stop every grunt that will try to get closer to you.
- Jackals: a long range weapon is a good choice as long as you know how to use it. Try to shoot directly in the spot where their hand is holding the shield. Just take your time and aim properly. If you happen to appear in a close combat with a Jackal, an assault rifle will help you to take him down.
- Hunters: killing Hunters sometimes can get tricky cause those fellows are pretty tough. In order to take a hunter down you can do the following: use a sticky, or a shotgun or a fuel rod/rocket launcher. However, it will take several fuel rod or rocket launcher shots to kill it.
- Elites: your ally here is the plasma pistol. Charge it up and shoot at Elite. If you do everything right, it will take elite’s shield away. Now you can use DMR or BR to shoot it in the head. But, if you do not have a plasma pistol, try to use a needler or just go for headshots.
- Crawlers: headshot with any long range weapon will work great. The only problem you can come across with is Crawlers coming in packs, so make sure you aim and shoot fast.
- Promethean Watchers: those are the first to kill because one of their abilities is to revive knights and you do not want to see those spawning constantly. Though, any long rage rifle will suit well to send Watchers to the galaxies far-far away.
- Promethean Knights: probably, the only tough enemy to deal with. You can kill those with pretty much everything in your arsenal but the rail gun or the assault rifle should be your primary weapon. You can also take them out with a turret effectively. Take Promethean Knight’s shield down and keep firing until it perishes.
3. Always use your special abilities. Of course, abilities you are going to choose will depend on your likings and strategy plans but one of the most effective, to my opinion, is Auto Sentry: it provides great distraction, it takes out enemies and makes things a bit easier.

Requiem 10

Completed mission 2 on any difficulty.

Complete Mission 2 “Requiem” either Solo or Cooperatively. This achievement can´t be missed. Just play the campaign on any difficulty: Easy, Normal, Heroic or Legendary. But here are some tips that should make things easier.
Tips on Mission 2:
- killing all enemies (or as many as possible) is the right thing to do, especially when you are playing “Legendary”;
- at the end of mission you should see a Banshee. It might be a good idea to hop in it and fly to the far door. This will help you to skip a couple of difficult combats that is a nice alternative especially when you play “Legendary”.
Also, here are some general rules that you should follow.
1. Never waste ammo cause this is the only thing that will keep you alive. I know that it may look like you have plenty of those but as it appears – not plenty enough. Forerunner 10

Completed mission 3 on any difficulty.

Complete Mission 3 “Forerunner” either Solo or Cooperatively. This achievement can´t be missed. Just play the campaign on any difficulty: Easy, Normal, Heroic or Legendary. But here are some tips that should make things easier.
Tips on Mission 3:
- sometimes, when playing on hard difficulties, it might be a good idea to skip a couple of battles and leave your enemies behind, especially, when you are low on ammo. So, on the second part of this mission where you have to go to the top, you can get into the banshee that stands a bit off to the side. Also, at the very end of the mission, feel free to run by the enemies. Of course, this tip is not obligatory but sometimes it is better to run in case of emergency.
Also, here are some general rules that you should follow.
1. Never waste ammo cause this is the only thing that will keep you alive. I know that it may look like you have plenty of those but as it appears – not plenty enough. You will have enough time to aim properly and the more headshots you perform, the more ammo you will safe for other enemies. Infinity 10

Completed mission 4 on any difficulty.

Complete Mission 4 “Infinity” either Solo or Cooperatively. This achievement can´t be missed. Just play the campaign on any difficulty: Easy, Normal, Heroic or Legendary. But here are some tips that should make things easier.
Tips on Mission 4:
- in the first part of the mission you will have defend a building for a little while (once you find some marines). As far as you’ll be dealing with Knights, it might be a good idea to use rail gun or the assault rifle to illuminate them. Also, do not forget to utilize three turrets as well;
- later on you will have to fight another group of bad Knights. Just try to keep the distance and shoot them from the Rail Gun. Do not forget to pick up their ammo;
- the last part of the mission is with the Mantis, and it won’t be difficult. At least, it shouldn’t be.
Also, here are some general rules that you should follow.
1. Never waste ammo cause this is the only thing that will keep you alive. I know that it may look like you have plenty of those but as it appears – not plenty enough. Complete Mission 5 “Reclaimer” either Solo or Cooperatively. This achievement can´t be missed. Just play the campaign on any difficulty: Easy, Normal, Heroic or Legendary. But here are some tips that should make things easier.

I Need a Hero 40

Completed the Campaign on Heroic or harder.

If you’ve been playing this game on Heroic or Harder difficulty, after your first try this achievement should appear unlocked. But, if you finished it playing Easy or Normal, you will have to play Halo 4 one more time on Heroic or harder difficulty. For more information you can check the achievements above.

The Legend of 117 70

Completed the Campaign on Legendary difficulty.

If you’ve been playing this game on Legendary difficulty, after your first try this achievement should appear unlocked. But, if you finished it playing Easy, Normal or Heroic, you will have to play Halo 4 one more time on Heroic difficulty. For more information you can check the achievements above.

Lone Wolf Legend 90

Completed the Campaign solo on Legendary difficulty.

As good as it sounds, “Legendary” difficulty is quite a challenge even for skillful players, so if you plan to finish this game playing Legendary, you should remember a couple of things and rules that will help you to do it right and actually finish all the 8 missions. Also, you should expect your hero dying a lot at first, so do not get harsh on yourself and just keep playing. Practice is the answer for everything. Well, and probably strategy too. By all means, you will have to finish the whole campaign playing on your own but at the end you are going to unlock a great number achievements including “The Legend of 117”, so, it might be a good idea to kill a couple of birds with one stone only.
The good news is that you can use two different strategies in order to complete the game. One of them is for pleasure and the other one is for score. They are both good and you can combine them if you need to.
1. Slow (the one that goes for Pleasure). No mercy! Kill everything that moves and shoots back at you, search for ammos and use them wisely, move from checkpoint to checkpoint and watch your six. In general, you will spend 45-60 minutes to finish each level.
- Use a ranged weapon and pick off enemies from afar;
- Use a powerful weapon combo like PP/BR or BR/Sniper. Use the Plasma Pistol charged shot to deplete shields and then switch to your BR to headshot the unshielded enemies. Use the LightRifle/Suppressor combo or LightRifle/Scattershot combo;
- Shoot at enemies while remaining near cover;
- Revert to cover if shield is even remotely depleted - by the time you realize you've been shot at your shield will most likely be gone;
- Stickies are very powerful, use them often when they are available;
- Save Power weapons for the Hunters, or tough enemies near end of levels.
2. Fast (the one that goes for Score). This one is based on you avoiding combats and fighting only those that have to be killed. Grab only the weapons/ammo for enemies you must fight. Also, your task is to move from checkpoint to checkpoint and survive during the run. In general, you will spend 10-15 minutes to finish each level.
- Find alternate routes that will keep you primarily hidden from enemies;
- Use Ghosts, Banshees, Warthogs for speed and their ability to get you to areas you could not get to by foot;
- Use a powerful weapon combo like BR/Shotgun or Sword, BR/Sniper. Use the Shotgun or Sword to take down an enemy quickly while you are rushing past if you are met with too much resistance;
- Use a ranged weapon and pick off enemies from afar that will kill you as you Rush (Knights, Turrets);
- Use cover when needed but also to remain hidden from enemies walking/running past;
- Stickies are very powerful, use them often when they are available;
- Save Power weapons for the Hunters, or tough enemies near end of levels.
As it was mentioned before, you are not supposed to finish this game using only one of the methods mentioned. Combine them if you want or adopt one you feel comfortable with.

Skullduggery 15

Completed any Campaign mission with 3 or more Skulls on Heroic or harder.

This is Campaign related and you won’t be able to miss it but the only complexity is that you are supposed to unlock it on Heroic or Higher level. Skulls will be available from the very beginning of the game which means that you can get them on any level. In mission 1 “Dawn” you can attempt to get these:
- Cowbell;
- Grunt Birthday;
- IWHBYD.
Complete any Mission either Solo or Cooperatively with the Silver Skulls turned on. If you accidently missed something, you can always replay the mission and show better results. Use “Mission Select” after initial Campaign playthrough.

Bropocalypse 10

Completed any Campaign mission cooperatively on Heroic or harder.

You should get this as soon as completing the very first mission of Campaign with your friend. It won’t be hard. Just keep playing and remember to cover each other.

If I am not mistaken, the very first Terminal can be found on Mission 2 “Requiem”. After defeating 2 Hunters at the very end of Mission 2, you will see a long hall. At the end of the hall you will find your first terminal. You can do it by yourself playing Solo or Cooperatively. Also, difficulty won’t matter. You can check out the video from “Terminus” achievement in order to find one or more Terminals.

Terminus 50

Found all of the Terminals in the Campaign.

All in all there 7 Terminals in the game which means, that you will find one in every mission except the first one. You can do it by yourself playing Solo or Cooperatively. Also, difficulty won’t matter. After you find the last on – you will get the achievement. The good news is that you do not have to watch them. Below you will find descriptions and guidance on how and where to find all 7 terminals.

Location 1: Requiem
After defeating 2 Hunters at the very end of Mission 2, you will see a long hall. At the end of the hall you will find your first terminal.
Location 2: Forerunner
For this one you will have to check a relatively plain sight under the tower structure. This should be right after you defeat a small group of crawlers and a promethean. You HUD will begin to become distorted. Right after that you will see your second terminal in the location mentioned above.
Location 3: Infinity
This is an easy one: you will meet up with your teammates as the game progresses. After a short cutscene you will appear in a ship. Turn around and the third terminal will be there.
Location 4: Reclaimer
The fourth Terminal should appear somewhere in the middle of the Mission 4. Once the cutscene is over, you will appear indoors. Pick up Cortana and make your way through a hallway. Now your task is to board the elevator (it’s a primary objective). Do not do that and take right. Here we go – our fourth terminal.
Location 5: Shutdown
Now, in order to find this one you will have to be careful. Progress through the mission and come to a section with a bunch of light bridges. When you see two Hunters approaching you at the end of path, it means that you are close enough. That terminal you’re looking for is right before the checkpoint. However, you can easily backtrack: take the last possible left when going from the entrance to the location of the hunters. The terminal will be located behind the structure on this platform.
Location 6: Composer
When you get outside, run across the terrain to the building that says "Atrium" on the side. The terminal you’re looking for is out there. You might need a couple of minutes to figure out Terminal’s locations but "Atrium" is only thing I can help you with.
Location 7: Midnight
When you are on foot it means that you are getting closer. Progress through the mission by clearing the rooms one by one and in the 3rd or 4th room you will see the Terminal. It will be located behind two pillars. In order to access it, walk around and access the back side.
But if you are not afraid of spoilers, you can watch this video.

Digging up the Past 20

Found and accessed Chief's record in mission 1.

You will be able to find Chief's record down a ramp on your left. Insert the chip into your helmet and wait until Cortana uploads herself. Now press “X” to access it. Please, do NOT enter the next room and do NOT touch the control panel before finding the record. For some reason this achievement glitches and you won’t be able to unlock it. In order to fix the problem you will have to restart the level and this time remember to stay away from that control panel.

Midnight Launch 20

Got significant air in the Warthog at midnight in mission 2.

Well, this is a tricky one and a decent guidance is exactly what you need. So, the main idea of unlocking this achievement is to be the driver in a Warthog and achieve significant air when your console time is at 12:00 am. Yes – ONLY THE DRIVER can unlock this achievement. Reach the Warthog ASAP. Now press 360 Guide button wait for the time to hit 12 pm. Drive your Warthog down the dirt track until you reach a destroyed pipe. It should take about 20 seconds. Blast your way through it and at the end you'll hit a jump. Just make sure that the timing is OK.
If you have some problems setting time, here’s what you can do:
Method 1: Online. Change your Time Zone and pick the one that is closest to the midnight.
Method 2: Offline: set your console clock to 23:50 (well, just in case) and then load Mission 2: Requiem.

This is my Rifle, This is my Gun 20

Carried a UNSC weapon all the way through mission 3 on Heroic or harder.

You need to start the 3rd Mission with two UNSC weapons: Assault Rifle and Magnum Pistol (recommended). Your task is to finish this mission keeping at least one of UNSC weapon. The easiest thing to do that is to keep the Magnum Pistol as your secondary weapon all the time. This will allow you to drop your Assault Rifle anytime. You need to understand that dropping both is not acceptable because then you will have to restart the whole level or, at least, from the last checkpoint. Though, it is OK if you run out of ammo as long as you keep one of UNSC weapons with you. The hardest thing – you are not allowed to die or you will have to restart the mission cause you will not respawn with UNSC weapon.

Bros to the Close 20

Completed mission 4 without one preventable Marine death on Heroic or harder.

In order to complete the mission successfully and unlock this achievement you will have to save 6 UNSC Marines. So, a little company of your friend on Corporative regime will definitely become helpful. Now – let’s figure out the rest: 2 Marines are supposed to join you after your encounter with Commander Laskey and the other 4 Marines will be fighting Crawlers, Watchers, Knights at the base of a hill. The best way to keep the six Marines safe is to keep a distance between the Marines and the Promethean Crawlers, Knights and Watchers. If you see that your Marines will try to play heroes and rush in front of you, make sure you charge forward and lead the squad. Yes, it means that your enemies will concentrate their fire on you but it also means that you will be able to save Marines’ lives. You can also use a Hologram Armor ability that is near the base of the hill by the 4 Marines. This will help you to redirect the enemy's fire. And take as much advantage of the turrets scattered all over the area as possible. It will be helpful when waiting for Cortana to unlock the hatch. You will be able to get this achievement once Cortana unlocks the hatch and you retrieve her chip. The good news is that if you reach any checkpoint with all the 6 Marines alive and then someone dies, you can restart from the last successful checkpoint and finish the level with the unlocked achievement. But, if you reach any checkpoint with at least one Marine missing – you will have to restart the whole Mission.

Mortardom 20

Hijacked a Wraith and used it to kill at least four enemy Wraiths in mission 5 on Heroic or harder.

This is not something challenging – you will just have to make things fast and right. The easiest way to steal a Wraith is to kill the gunner from a safe distance. Now get closer and blast the Wraith with the charged Plasma Pistol shot. Once its disables, get inside and press “X” to steal it. Now you need to destroy 4 other Wraiths while riding the stolen one. Just keep moving and dodging the enemy Wraith's plasma attack. If you move fast, it will be hard to hit you from any distance. Also, watch out for the close attacks cause they are the dangerous ones. All in all there are 8 Wraiths in the level but once you eliminate the 4th one, you will get this achievement unlocked.

Explore the Floor 20

Tricked or forced a Hunter to fall to his demise in mission 6.

This is not hard but it might take a while to become good at tricking Hunters. Your task is to force a Hunter to fall to his demise. Frankly speaking, the description is not precise: forcing means making and you won’t have to make him fall down – you will have to let him fall down. I hope you feel the difference. The easiest way to do that is to get to the edge as close as possible and start eyeing the guy until he gets angry and charges at you. At the very last moment when he is about to knock you out, press jump button or use Jetpack and let him run under you. If you turn around and a Hunter won’t be standing there it means that he is gone forever.

Give Him the Stick 20

Took out both Hunters using only the Sticky Detonator in mission 7.

You can get the Sticky Detonator at the far left corner in the room where two Hunters are wrecking havoc. Fire a sticky onto a Hunter by pressing “RT”. As far as Sticky Detonator is a remote detonated weapon, you will need to press “RT” one more time to make it explode. Remember: you only have 5 rounds in the Sticky Detonator, so use them wisely and with the maximum accuracy.

Chief, Smash! 20

Killed 3 Crawlers in one hit with the Gravity Hammer in mission 8.

You will acquire the Hammer shortly after Rally Point Bravo in an armory. Wait until Crawlers start traversing the bridge in attempt to kill you, swing with your Gravity Hammer and kill 3 of them. If you do not remember, Crawlers are the dog looking beasts with orange flame heads.

Not Some Recruit Anymore 15

Ranked up your Spartan-IV to SR-5.

Infinity Multiplayer related. Online required. You Rank up your Spartan-IV and earn points through the Infinity game modes. Luckily, this will be pretty easy to get as far as pretty much every game move gets you XP points. Probably, the easiest way to get things done is to complete the challenges found in your Spartan hub. Here you will be able to check your progress, challenges and XP points. Just keep on playing and if you are persistent enough, you will be able to finish the task pretty fast.

Movin' On Up 25

Ranked up your Spartan-IV to SR-20.

Infinity Multiplayer related. Online required. You Rank up your Spartan-IV and earn points through the Infinity game modes. Basically, you have to do the very same thing you used to do in order to unlock the previous achievement but this time you will have to try 4 times harder. But, as far as you get XP points for pretty much everything, this shouldn’t be a big problem. Just show your best! By the way, there is an easy method (and pretty fast as well) to earn lots of XP points and the best part – it can be done in the very first Episode and the very first Chapter. Hop into the Gauss Rifle Warthog as a driver. You will find out that AI drivers are pretty bad at driving but not that bad on the turrets. Stay in the Warthog the whole time. If you manage to take out one of the Phantoms, you will get 2300 XP points instead. Continue killing bad guys and get as much points as you need to rank up your Spartan-IV to SR-20.

Completed a Spartan Ops Mission on any difficulty.

Infinity Multiplayer. Spartan Ops related. Online Required. Can be obtained on Easy+. Go to “Main Menu” > Choose “Infinity” > Choose “Spartan Ops” > Select an episode you want to play > Select Chapter > Select Difficulty > Start playing. When you complete your first Spartan Ops Mission – you will unlock the achievement.

A Legendary Episode 40

Completed all chapters in Spartan Ops Episode 1 on Legendary difficulty.

Infinity Multiplayer. Spartan Ops related. Online Required. Must be obtained on Legendary. All in all there are 5 Chapters within Spartan Ops Episode 1 “Infinity”. You can complete them either playing alone or with a friend. However, it can’t be done using matchmaking as far as those games are set at Heroic difficulty only. Even on Legendary difficulty it shouldn’t be as hard as it sounds because you will have an infinite amount of respawns. So, just play until you win them all. By the way – if you are out of ammo, the simplest way to get more is to kill yourself. It should take about 20 minutes to finish each mission solo. The only thing to remember: unlocking this achievement might get glitchy. So, if you have troubles getting 40 achievement points even after more than successful game, then try to play Mission 1 Solo again and you should unlock it no matter what.

Dedicated to Crimson 80

Completed all chapters in the first 5 episodes of Spartan Ops on any difficulty.

Infinity Multiplayer. Spartan Ops related. Online Required. Unlocking this achievement lies in completing all Chapters in the first five episodes. All in all there are 25 chapters: 5 chapters with 5 Spartan Ops Episodes each. But, of course, you can complete those that are already available and come back to the rest when they are out.

Crimson Alone 20

Completed a Spartan Ops chapter solo on Legendary.

All in all there are 25 chapters: 5 chapters with 5 Spartan Ops Episodes each. Luckily, in order to unlock this one you won’t have to complete the whole set of 25 missions. You just need to complete one chapter with 5 missions and the achievement will come to you naturally. But remember – you will have to do that while playing “Legendary” – other difficulties are not good for this. Chapter 2 “Sniper Alley” (Episode 1 “Infinity”) is said to be the easiest one so you should probably stick to it. But, that is up to you.

Roses vs Violets 20

Found one of the RvB Easter Eggs in Spartan Ops.

Searching eggs is another strange activity offered by this game. One of the first eggs in this game can be found in Episode 1 “Infinity”, Chapter 5 “Core”. Take a look down while standing on the bridge (right side/north side). Use Zoom in/Scope and search for a small chest on the other side. Shoot it and in a couple of seconds you will get your achievement unlocked.

This can’t be hard to unlock especially if you play online Cooperatively with 3 other players. Your task is to protect 4 Marines. Just make sure that someone stays with them (become a volunteer) and protects them from the Elites, Hunters, and Ghost & Wraiths. The faster you take those out, the higher your chances are to survive. Of course, it would be very nice of you to keep them all alive but if it is not possible – make sure that at least one of them survives.

Knight in White Assassination 20

Bromageddon 40

Completed the Campaign cooperatively on Heroic or harder.

This is campaign related and can’t be missed but must be obtained on Heroic or higher difficulty. You should also complete this while playing the Campaign Cooperatively. Here’s what you need to do:
1. In order to start a Coop Campaign – invite a friend to join your Campaign Lobby (you can also join his);
2. In the Campaign Lobby press “X” Roster to see the list of friend available to invite;
3. Highlight the one you wish to play with and press “A”;
4. Then invite to Party;
5. Start a Campaign.
The good news is that you can use two different strategies in order to complete the game. One of them is for pleasure and the other one is for score. They are both good and sometimes you can combine them. Check out "Lone Wolf Legend" achievement for more details.
There is also a third method that can be applied during your online Campaign and it is called “Always keep 1 Spartan Safe” or just “Safe”.
- Have a partner (or a 2nd controller) hang back while you Rush or clear out an enemy area;
- If and when you die, you will respawn in this Safe area until you defeat the enemies to get to a new Safe checkpoint;
- Have the partner (or a 2nd controller) commit suicide and be transported to your new Safe checkpoint.
