I hope you're all getting suitably hyped up, because great things are coming our way very soon!

The beta launch of Halo 5: Guardians is coming on November 11th of this year. Just in time for my birthday, if any of you were wondering what to get me ;)

I cant wait. I wish they wouldnt bring it out the same time as call of duty though.
Really upsets me as it means i need to pick now.
Got to be Halo 5 though for me xD

I think it's safe to assume that the new character is John's replacement mentioned in the Halo 4 prologue. The teaser art suggests that they're a reflection of one another, and that they're both guardians in their own way. They've been confirmed to be a brand new, male, character, this makes the most sense.

I am definitely very excited for this and am looking forward tot his very much. Story line looks very interesting and it looks like there is going to be some kind of twist in the story, either way it looks awesome!

What I don't get is, and maybe it's because I haven't really been all that well versed in the other lore, but isn't he meant to be the last of the spartans?

4 months away... That's actually not too far I should have gotten my xbox one by then anyway so i can't wait! Hopefully I'll see you all on the battlefield! Most of all I'm looking forward to the story. The halo lore is one of the best I've ever come across.

I cannot wait for this. I've been waiting for a good Halo game for what seems like an eternity now. I'm personally not a fan of any of the games released after Halo 2, I feel like they lack the luster that was in the previous games. I really hope that this game changes that. I hope this isn't just some rumor though.

Well at least you can always pick up the Master Chief collection and play through the Anniversary Edition of Halo 2 which will feature updated graphics and stuff, in a similar manner to the game we got with the original Halo.

I'm actually more interested with Master Chief Collection. It's got Halo to Halo 4 in one package. Can't wait to replay Halo 1 to 3 again. I'm not very excited for Halo 5 mainly because not much is shown yet so there's really nothing to be excited about for me.

The fact that it's another Halo game isn't enough for you or something?

343 did ALL RIGHT with Halo 4, but it wasn't anything particularly special. The multiplayer moved slightly closer to other FPS games, which made it less fun in my opinion. The story was decent, but I never played through it again after the first time. I'm sure Guardians will be better than 4, but I don't think we'll get another game that matches Halo 2, 3, or Reach any time soon. I could be completely wrong, though. Who knows?

Personally I don't think 3 was all it was cracked up to be. The original was good, but not really great when you look back at it. 2 was the best of the bunch, but the story of Reach. Even though you knew that it was going to end in defeat, you got so engrossed in it, hoping that things would be okay.

And that ending...god. That last brutal battle that just goes on forever.

When I realized the last battle in Reach wouldn't end until you died, I just grenaded myself. Haha. A few people have posted videos on YouTube where they go for hours on that last battle, and there's no real reward, except for continuing the good fight. I loved Reach more than Halo 2, but I played 1,000 hours in Reach across campaign and multiplayer, so that's not a big surprise.
