Are you guys having issues with the headset having nothing but static? Disc drives that won't read or install? Or console installation crashing? Well, I guess since it's fairly new, Microsoft didn't see this coming. I read a news article just now and this is what I saw.

The Xbox One has finally launched, but unfortunately for Microsoft and its fans this day hasn't gone off without a hitch.
Day one Xbox One buyers are reporting a variety of issues with the hardware they purchased at the console's midnight launch and on the morning of its release.
Those problems range from critical errors with software updates to scratched consoles and faulty headsets and disc drives, according to reports given to and compiled by IGN and Geek.com.
We asked Microsoft for a response to these reports, and we'll update here when we hear back.

Making light

Alleged issues with day one Xbox One hardware include a headset that emits nothing but static, a console trapped in an endless loop of crashing and rebooting, and disc drives that won't read or install games.

I friend of mine just got his earlier. I help him set it up and what can I say? No issues at all. I guess the issue was probably due to the delivery. Or maybe something went wrong while installing. The console works fine. If there are issues Microsoft is sure to post a help article for this online.

No problems with mine. But I have read of some people having issues with the disc drive not working properly. Like guys have said when it was discussed about the PS4 last week, there are going to be issues with some of the consoles. Heck the demo PS4 they had out at my local Best Buy did not work. If you sell over 1 million consoles some will have problems. You wait with such anticipation for the release date and all you get is a brick from Microsoft or Sony. I know I would be a little upset. I think most got a console that works fine, but there is a vocal minority that did not.

There's been news coming in that this issue is "increasing" but it's still affecting a small number of owners. Like what EMS says, it's expected at launch. Look at the iPhone for example. When iOS 7 launched, people started reporting issues such as freezing, apps not working (like GTA Chinatown Wars. It had to be scrapped out to fix it for iOS 7 optimization). We'll just have to hope new owners don't end up with the issue, and to see to it that Microsoft gets the issue solved straight away.

I had a problem with Live TV not working correctly. When I first set up the HDMI cables, I connected my cable box to the XB1. Live TV worked off and on. Video would freeze or I'd receive a black screen. Once, I even received a message saying my cable box wasn't connected to the XB1, when clearly it was. I looked around for others having that problem and found a solution which worked. At first, I didn't have the HDMI cable packed with the XB1 plugged into both my cable box and XB1. I simply used the cable I've been using. When I made the change and used a Monster HDMI cable from the XB1 to the TV, everything worked! Right now, my biggest problem is taking time to configure Kinect correctly.

I agree, that there are going to probably be some hardware problems at first. That is to be expected, but I think they will have these problems fixed very soon. Have faith in Microsoft if you are experiencing any problems.
