I was checking out my 360 dashboard yesterday and came across the "Deals of the Week" tab. Being a frugal (cheap) person, I clicked and looked around. I saw a game I'd been interested in for awhile now, but could never justify the price based on the reviews and friends opinions. But it was ONLY $7.50! Today on Amazon, I saw another game that, like the previous game, I couldn't justify spending money on based on the general consensus that it is (and I believe this is an industry term) "garbage". But, again, it was ONLY $7.50. The games in question are "Naughty Bear" and "NeverDead".

I didn't purchase either because I've been burned in the past and foolishly asked the question "It's ONLY $20.00 It can't be THAT bad right?". I'm referring to "Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust". Twenty dollars brand new. Yes, I bought it. Yes, I regretted it. Np, I will never forgive the developers for the things they put my eyes and brain through while playing this god awful excuse for a "game". I thought back to this and put the credit card down.

My question is has a bargain game or accessory ever clouded your judgement and make you regret ever having money in the first place?

BTW, if anyone has an opinion about the games mentioned at the top, let me know. It's ONLY $7.50!

Well, I was actually interested in Naughty Bear, even at full price. I didn't buy it because I knew it would take forever for me to get to it. So, $7.50 would make me a little more inclined and especially it if it were a digital download. But, other than that, if I never had an interest in a game, a price drop won't make me jump at it.

When a game drops that low I get both enticed to buy, and Leary of how good it is. I mean if it's been out a long time and the price drop isn't because it sucks, but more because there are newer games people are interested in, than I want it.

The fact that the Xbox360 has been a mere $99 has made me want to get one again. I've had one for a while before it just totally broke on me, but haven't gotten another one yet. I think the reason is that I haven't had a game that I want to play again. What I do now is just watch "Let's Play" videos on Youtube. I really wish I could kick myself into buying another one, even if it's not going to be a real great investment. I'll wait and see how my judgement can hold out.

Funny thing about the psychology of choice. It never seems like we are satisfied with the decision we made, and are often found pondering the alternate reality where we did the opposite.

Now Leisure Suit Larry, there is no reality where I want that game in my hands haha. What you ought to do is research the games, maybe just buy one if you felt so inclined. If money is tight, save it. $7.50 is very, very cheap, and if the game play is deep it could turn out to be a great investment.

I agree with the choices we make being second guessed. I bought "Splinter Cell: Blacklist" on day one instead of "Saints Row 4". I love Splinter Cell. Absolutely a great game. But I did wonder if I made the right choice. Luckily, my roommate just bought Saints Row so now we have them both.

I generally research the games I'm interested in, but with these games it's still a crap shoot. "Naughty Bear" got mediocre reviews and "Neverdead" was trashed by most people. But again, at ONLY $7.50.......lol I just don't want to get "Leaisure Suit Larry" 'd again!

These types of deals are so tempting for me. It's like a thought popping in my head that this is a deal of a lifetime and I shouldn't miss out. Most of the time I just impulse buy them and regret it, I just can't learn for some reason. If you really want that game, go ahead and get it. However, if I was in your position I would just wait for it to drop even more.

I find it hard to pass on a seemingly great deal when it comes to gaming. But when I look back on not only games, but controllers, gadgets and other peripherals that were "a good deal", I try to remember those and not be so impulsive.

I guess we've all done it. Sometimes I just keep repeating it lol. :)

I have bought items because they were on sale before but I generally don't do that with video games.
Most video games I buy cheap are ones I was waiting for the price to drop and happened to catch it on sale (like Tomb Raider).

Naughty Bear was pretty cool! I've played it briefly before. What I do when games have a price drop is buy them! I mean for real why not!? Now let's say you don't like it all that much, you aren't wasting as much money. Not to mention if it's been out enough for a price drop there should be tons of reviews out for it so you might as well go read them and decide if you think it's worth your money or not!

You may be right. But if the game winds up being horrible I'm thinking "That was $7.50..... A WHOLE PIZZA!!" Then I curse the gaming gods for awhile and get over it lol.
