Xbox One Here at college without a cable box and just have a coax cable from the wall...

Unfortunately, nothing at all. The XBOX ONE has gone all digital with its inputs and only supports HDMI video and Optical audio.
 
shucks... Are there any kinds of converters I could purchase?

You could use some of the built in apps to watch shows as long as you have internet.

Yeah, the coax way of hooking up devices has unfortunately gone the way of the dinosaur unless you have a cable box. Even out-to-tv connections aren't coax anymore.
