On the commercials for the product they show it as being accurate and reliable, but from what i have heard, it doesn't always work. What are your experiences with the voice control?

So far I have some minor issues with it. Voice control does have some issues when I am saying Xbox Turn off. It doesn't completely do it right away but after saying it twice it did it. I guess it has some issues picking up voices on a noisy environment.

It works pretty good for me, I can shout at it to turn on when I'm in the other room and I'll respond. Only times it can be kinda iffy is during a game or loud environments but I think you can calibrate it for that...dunno how well that works as I've been too lazy to do it though haha

That being said though I've never had to say it more then 3 times...that is unless I ****ed up the actual voice command...Protip: It's "Xbox On" not "Xbox Turn On"

Not that responsive for me. Still having issues with the system recognizing commands.

Yeah, I saw one of those ads while watching an anime on Hulu. So far, some of the posters here give their answers. Some have minor issues, some aren't having problems much but so far, mixed reception.

I am one of the biggest supporters of the Kinect, but if you watch the videos they are always in a quiet
room with the TV sound off. It works well like that but you don't play games that way.

Turn up the TV, put on your surround sound and it's hit or miss.

I know that is rather obvious, but who plays Ryse in silence so it can hear your voice commands? I have to
grab my remote and mute it half the time use a voice command when in a game or get it to record something.

It should get interesting when turtle beach launch their xbone line up, then you can play with the sound off and it'll get hella responsive.

Mine works almost flawless. No real issues. Sometimes I have to ask it to turn on a few times, but once on, everything else works great. In Madden the audibles work fine, and in Ryse the few commands I have done work as well. Moveing the menu items is a snap and I hardly use the remote at all. My 8 year old has some problems using his voice, but I think that is because its such a low tone and not a deep voice. Sometimes you need to speak slower for it to work.... All in all, no major problems and it worked better than I expected....

Glad I got the one.

Doesn't work as well for me, maybe because I speak in an accent that the Xbox One can't recognize. When I'm playing a game it gets annoying because in the heat of battle, I need quick responses but the voice command doesn't always work. Overall, I can say it does work just isn't as smooth for me.

For me it works 99% of the time and this is coming from someone who was extremely skeptical about it because I read online from people that it doesn't work.

The trick is knowing the exact voice commands (which comes with time and practice) and you must speak in a clear tone. I think the people having issues with the Kinect just aren't saying the commands correctly and clearly.

Microsoft is going to definitely expand on Kinect with more updates and patches as well and as of right now I am loving it.

I was at a friends house the other day and he was playing Battlefield 4 on his Xbox, his little brother who was in another room of the house kept yelling Xbox One Home Screen, and it would interupt his gameplay and promptly revert to home screen it was really funny...

Oddly enough, it was working great when I first got it (had to repeat a command twice tops if it didn't get it the first time), but now it's having huge difficulties when I ask it to turn off. I hope it doesn't have Alzheimer's :\

They seem to be about 98% for me. If I'm watching TV and its loud sometimes it takes a second time to get a command in. It loud games don't seem to have that issue.

All in all a very good experience for me.

I rarely have issues on it. Good you have the thing working for you with no issues at all.

Rarely, Hmm I guess, well mine doesn't work well if there are other people talking on the background. My kid teases me a lot whenever I'm playing and he keeps on saying Xbox Turn off especially when I'm on a good part.

It works pretty well for me and I'm from Northern England. I guess it depends on your accent and how you pronounce words. My Xbox one can't understand my friend from Scotland for the life of it! I happen to teach English conversation in Japan so I need to be able to speak and pronounce words clearly so I guess that's why me and my Xbone have a good relationship!

For me, it actually works better than Siri. Not as good as google now but still, pretty amazing.

Voice commands work great for me almost all the time. I do notice that Kinect seems to be very sensitive to background noise. I have my XB1 in my office with a PC and if I am playing music from the PC even on a low volume, Kinect can't seem to hear me.

it works alright, but I still have a little bit of trouble with it at times. It gets a little annoying at times, but it could be worse.
