Bioshock is one of those once-in-a-generation games that shouldn't be missed. The biggest asset of Bioshock is the story; to call it engrossing is an understatement. Bioshock's story is one that can rival a highly revered film or novel, and it shows just how extensive a set of ideologies can mold a person. The atmosphere is amazing, and I would say personally that it hasn't been bested by a game this generation; it is creepy, yet fascinating. The gameplay is fun, and fairly diverse for an FPS. You'll find no shortage of ways to dispatch your enemies, and there are many ways you can go about any given situation. The RPG elements are a nice touch, and they have just the right amount of depth for a game of this order.
The sound is great and fitting, and the oldies tunes really fit the setting well. The visuals aren't too shabby, and they're quite good for an earlier title of this generation. There is quite a lot of replay value, although I won't say it is the very best in this department. I will say that Bioshock is one of those games that I want to pull of the shelf when I've put it away for a while, and lasting appeal is always a good thing. To conclude, Bioshock is very inexpensive at this point, so if you haven't played it yet, what are you waiting for?
