Xbox 360 If you're buying Xbox One, when will you stop buying 360 games?

This is a point I'm currently debating. Considering the Xbox One won't allow us to play games from the 360, at what point should we stop purchasing games on the current console?

I know it's pretty much up to each individual person, but I think that as soon as I get the One I probably won't touch my 360. This would mean any games I've purchased near the release of the One might go untouched due to the fact they won't work on the One. My hope is that the system is a much better experience than the 360, but that in turn would mean I probably wouldn't have a desire to go back to the old system. I'd hate to feel that I wasted $60.

Then there's also the issue that if you can't afford a One right off the bat, should you wait to buy a game on it when you can afford it or go out and buy the game on the current console immediately? Consider Call of Duty: Ghosts. I'm not sure when I'll be able to buy a One, so I'm not sure if I should buy Ghosts for the 360 or wait.

Is anyone else thinking about this?

Honestly? Yes I probably would stop buying 360 games. If the games were cross platform... Why would I want to play a great game in lesser graphics? I would want to get the most of my money so I would buy just Xbox One games... Unless for some reason the game was only on 360, other than that though, yeah I would.

Yes, generally if there is a game released right before the new generation I'll wait the month or so before I buy it. There is some special cases but I usually never even bother to turn on the previous consoles and play a game. If there is a game that I must play on release day, I'll have to buy it twice. Yes, it's a waste of money, but these games have to be really special for me to spend the extra money on it.

Generally, the launch titles don't take advantage of the hardware very well. This means I may even put off buying the new console if the multi-generation titles are the same on both generations.

Yeah, I've been considering this as well because of Call of Duty Ghosts and I'm actually having trouble deciding. I mean, of course I want it on the Xbox one
so I can get the full new experience, but I'm not sure that I'll be buying the One as soon as it comes out. I guess ultimately it just comes down to me waiting
and seeing. But I don't like to buy the first batchs of consoles when they come out.

I've pretty much stopped buying games for my consoles already. The only exceptions I will make in the coming months will be for games that I've been waiting a long time for (GTA V on 360 and The Last of Us on PS3). I am also very keen on Ghosts but will most likely wait and see to see what happens with that game and the new consoles.

When? Well, as soon as possible of course. If I would already have the Xbox One on my living room, there would be no reason why I would still buy Xbox 360 games. Maybe if the game would be so good and would only be an Xbox 360 exclusive, then I probably would purchase the game. However, the possibility of this happening is nil so I don't think that I would ever purchase a game for the 360 if I already have the Xbox One.

It all depends on what games will be releasing on the 360 compared to the Xbox One. I think during the release of the Xbox One, I will stop buying 360 games, and switch to One games. There are currently a lot of games I'm excited for, Watch Dogs being my most recent one.

I didn't buy a 360 until well after its release, but I know there were a lot of games from the original Xbox that were re-released as 360 versions. I'm sure they're planning on doing the same thing here, but I'd rather just pay for the one that's least expensive. On the other hand, if I'm going to be committed to playing games online, I'm going to inevitably buy the games that the most people are playing. I hope they keep Xbox 360 game servers going for a while because I don't plan on buying an Xbox One for quite some time.

To be able to pay for my Xbox One, I'll probably have to sell my 360 somehow. In the unlikely case I don't have to sell my 360, I'll probably keep buying used games until I notice that the overall quality and quantity of Xbox One games is much higher than the current ratio on the 360, even if it means I'll have to shell out more on One games.

I can't see myself stopping using my 360 for quite a while, though!
