I love Indie Games in fact on of the games I'm looking forward to the most is the new Octodad. However, it really does feel like with every article I read that Indie devs are turning away from the Xbox One in droves and the explanation is that it's Microsoft's policies that are the problem. Hopefully Microsoft can come to an understanding with the Indie community so that we don't miss out.

Indie vs Microsoft

I'm hoping this is resolved as well. There has to be some common ground for MS and the developers that will benefit both. Keeping fingers crossed.

I'm sure they will work something out. It would suck if some of these great indie titles disappeared from Xbox and players weren't able to enjoy them on the consoles. I mean there would be Steam, but not everyone is a fan of that.

This is a complaint from a couple guys, hardly what I would consider widespread.

Maybe MS will change, but either way there will be a lot of Indie games on the Xbox One.

Indie vs Microsoft

It's been a long time. Ever since that policy Microsoft put out to indie devs in developing for the 360, indie devs just find it hard to trust Microsoft. They've since turned to Sony since Sony welcomed them with big hugs. Yeah, I hope Microsoft and the indie devs can come to some understanding but if we keep seeing more indie game on Sony and less on Microsoft, won't be long before Microsoft has no more indie games to show.

This is why i'm staying with my PC for now. So many indie choices and Steam makes it easy for them to get their game out there. Just look at Starbound, if that was on console it would be massive, but for now it's not, and it's hurting the devs.

Exactly. Steam gives that Greenlight option in Steam, that's why a lotta of that indie games make it on PC before everybody else. Sony is second in that motion. And of course, especially Starbound. That game had to make it out into PC first before the other systems. It's still a beta and Early Access Game, so it can't make it yet to the consoles until everything is worked out.

Microsoft's got to do something. Sony has been right in bringing the indie devs closer 'cuz it brings what PC gamers get to have all the time. They don't change their policies or welcome the indie devs nicely, and Microsoft will only depend on the AAA titles to keep up.

I'm sure something will change. Microsoft has changed their policies right? Maybe they can get more indie games on the Xbox One. It;'s not necessarily something that all indie devs think. I mean, remember Divekick got announced recently for the Xbox One? It shows a good sign Microsoft has finally done something right.

Agreed man. I bought it recently, Starbound, and I'm loving every minute of it. It wouldn't be a success yet if it went on consoles, that's why they put it on PC. It's still an Early Access game, so lotsa bugs to work out. I like indie games and PS3 but sometimes, it's best to stick to the PC in the meantime. But Sony's doing a good thing with the indie scene.
