Xbox 360 Is GTA V going to be as bad as GTA IV in terms of driving?

I mean I've seen trailers and some instances of gameplay, but one the things I really hated about GTA IV was having to drive around. I mean I got along alright, but it shouldn't have been so awful considering how good GTA III, San Andreas, Vice city, and Liberty stories was. Maybe they'll set up some demos or something - or a beta player will squeal or something.

Driving around? That's in every GTA though, plus you can take a taxi to fast travel. I think GTA 4 was a solid game, probably not as good as other GTAs but it satiated me. What GTA 5 has shown has truly impressed me with the content and the attention to detail. The multiplayer reveal is Thursday and I'm sure more campaign info will be dropped before the end of the month. I say keep an eye out, this is one to watch.

I mean we won't really know until the game is finally released and we actually get a chance to play GTA V in order to compare. From the trailers that have been released for the game it certainly seems like the driving controls for the game will be much better than those for GTA IV. I'm just waiting for the game to come out so I can finally play it.

From what I understand, they've gone back to the arcade-like style of driving. Since the world is so expansive, I believe they wanted you to have the ability to take turns doing 80 mph again, as well as simplify the controls for all the different vehicle types. GTA IV was trying to be super gritty and realistic, and they tried to reflect that with the realistic driving. However, with the giant scope of GTA V, I think they need to make the vehicle handling arcadey again.

Woah, there, pal, is this true? Does GTAV return to the arcade-like vehicle handling? If that's true, then DANG it just became so much better for me! In GTA 4 I just used taxis as fast travel because of how annoying driving around was!

Hmm, I don't think I would mind either way! Whether or not I am in complete control of the driving, I have little doubt that I will have fun anyway. Of course an advantage of the realistic driving was purposely going off course just for the laughs. But perhaps at the same time the arcade style control will help get things done faster without having to worry about everything around.

Well, for what i have seen from the trailer, it's shown a car making some pretty daring stunts between cars in a highspeed highway, and it didn't seemed like the cars were jello with wheels, so maybe there is future for that aspect of GTA.

I think the trailer video pretty much presented the new car mechanics when it comes to driving. The wheels and the surface of the floor matters now. Some will do better when driving on dirt, while some will drive better on pure concrete. I would expect it to be harder when driving on wet roads as opposed to dry roads as well. I'm sure drifting, and speed will change drastically in GTA V, however, I really didn't mind the car mechanics in GTA IV. Sure it was non-functional at times, and the turns basically stopped your car, but it was still decent.

I have been eagerly waiting for this game to launch ever since they have announced this game. Boy, this game is going to be freaking awesome. I will be paranoid as hell if the driving system turns out be a disappointment. I really hope they they have worked on it just like they did with the shooting mechanics.

Well what's wrong with driving around? That's one of the main draw for me and many more of the people I know! It's so wonderful to drive around in that living breathing world and take it all in.

But anyways I'm pretty sure there will be ways to fast travel in this. Taxis will obviously return but there are rumours that things like zipline carriers etc might be there this time too.

What's wrong with you, I loved driving around, it made me feel much older growing up from the passed gta's.
