I'm curious, those of you that have played the Sims games on Xbox and PC, do you feel like its almost pointless to have them on this console? On the DS games a d Xbox games you can't do nearly as much.

I do find the console versions to be fairly gimped, compared to the PC versions, specially when you count all the ridiculous mods and stuff people make for the PC versions. But at least the current-gen console Sims aren't as bad as the previous generation's.

I've played Sims for years now. Used to love the game when I was a kid, now I rarely play it.

And all those times I only played it on my PC. It's really useless on a console, I mean it's not even the same game! So yea I don't really see a point of playing it on a console, rather just stick to PC.

I don't find the console very good if i'm honest i prefer the pc totally its much easier and cheaper aswell so go with the pc, console seems so much more complicated than the pc.

While i recognize that The Sims is a much better series to be played on the PC, the console versions always had a special kind of charm to me. The Sims Busting Out and The Urbz are two of those that i have really found memories of, even if i know that they ain't that good.

I loved Sims as a child and still like to play it occasionally....the only way I can stomach it is PC though. I don't know if I'd go so far as to say it's 'worthless' any other way, but it's definitely not for me.

Was Busting Out the one in which you didn't have your own house so you kept moving into other people's houses or something like that? Well, Busting Out and The Urbz were only consoles too, no? They were a more original take on trying to get The Sims on consoles, unlike the other The Sims games on consoles which are just crappy ports.

I do have to ad it that I e joyed the Sims 2 Alien/hotel game for DS. The castaway one ticked me off though ;)

I agree with a couple others, leave the Sims to the PC. On the Xbox you have to find a way to direct the experience and the point of the Sims is to create a simulation of life. Its your chance to write a strange story that plays out in the daily lives of these virtual people. Kind of makes you feel weird to have a 5 hour Sims session where you caused all these virtual people to upgrade their skills but you didn't hit the gym that day...

If only life and skills were that easy to obtain and increase.

The sims is only fun on PC in my opinion. When ever I've played it on a console it seems to be missing SO much compared to the experience I get from playing it on PC. I guess it goes back to when I was a kid playing the original sims and how many hours of my young life I spent playing the sims and the sims 2. I remember the first sims game I got on a console was sims 2 pets on the PSP and I literally played it for about 5 hours total and it was just no fun compared to the PC version. Can't wait for the sims 4 to come out though!

Very true. I enjoyed the sims 2 alien/hotel game for the DS but it still wasn't as personal and fun as the PC version. I'm not a fan of the sim apps either.

I guess it's a waste, I mean, we can do all these things fast on PC, but it takes time on Xbox. Also, playing a simulation game, and a life simulation game on console is a total waste seriously. I use PC for simulation games.
