Hey all,

I was wondering if there's much of a difference between the BFG edition and the original Doom 3 game, other than the fact that this version has a couple of extra levels. I already own the original game, so is it worth shelling out a bit more money to buy this edition?

Doing a short research session, I doubt there are any major differences. One thing that caught my eye is the sound is supposed to have better horror effects, which is definitely a plus, but I have a feeling that it's more of a gimmick than an actual selling point. The graphics are a bit better, you can use the flashlight while holding your weapon, and there are extra levels as you mentioned, but if you own Doom 3 and RoE, I don't think these things alone make the BFG edition worth buying. To anyone who has yet to play Doom 3 or RoE, and/or doesn't own the classic Doom games (they are included in RoE, and thus the BFG edition) I'd say it's definitely worth it.
