Kinect Party is nice and short game for the whole family. It hardly can be called difficult unless you plan to lie down and do nothing – then yes, it will be difficult to complete. All in all it has only 20 achievements that can be unlocked in an hour or two. Things will flow a lot faster if you invite friends or play with the whole family. The only thing that you need, except the game itself, is a Facebook account.

Six Pack (20)
You've got a big living room!
This is an easy one: you need to register 6 players on the screen. If you have a big family, this won’t be a problem. Also, you can invite some friends and enjoy the party + get 20G points for just being present. If having 6 people around is an issue for you, try to (probably, experienced players will know how to fool the Kinect) use whatever you have at home and make it look like a person. This includes pillows, vacuums with coats, chairs and else. I personally managed to become successful by holding the shirt in front of me and lowering myself down behind the chair. Most times that caused the shirt to continue to be picked up as a player.
Let Me Pick (20)
You picked a channel to watch!
Load the game and when it starts – the mini games should be on an automatic loop. In order to get out of the Stage Area, hit the “Start” button on your Xbox controller. You should appear in a menu where you can select what mini games you want to play. Now, choose whatever you like. Add another achievement to the list of successful ones.
Social Butterfly (20)
You shared a photo!
As it was mentioned in the short introduction, you will need a Facebook account for that. You can easily take the photo of you and your friends by pressing the “X” button on the controller. Or, you can wait for the activity to take one for you. After you hit the “X” button, you will see a share prompt, otherwise the game will eventually prompt you to share your photos. Once the system is done uploading photo – you will get the achievement. If you have any problems uploading photos on Facebook, try to relaunch the game and share the photo again. Usually it helps.
I'm Your Huckleberry (20)
You shared the wanted poster with gold blocks!
As it was mentioned in the short introduction, you will need a Facebook account for that. You will find frames and filters in the dark room. The “Wanted” poster is under frames and the Gold blocks can be found under Filters. Choose both, combine them in your photo and share the photo on Facebook. Once the system is done uploading poster – you will get the achievement. If you have any problems uploading photos on Facebook, try to relaunch the game and share the photo again. Usually it helps.
One Hour Photo (20)
You used the darkroom!
Pretty self-explanatory: use the Darkroom. In order to get there, on your main screen select the “Photos” category (it will be in the bottom left) and go in. Exit back to the “Main Menu” and you should receive the achievement.
Channel Surfer (20)
You played through every channel!
When you launch the game, you will see the list of mini games that can be played. They are set on an automatic playlist and if you start from the first one and just continue playing, you are supposed to unlock this achievement by doing what the game says you to do. The game will simply scroll all the channels one by one and when you reach the last mini game and pass it – you will get what you need. This won’t take more than an hour – 2 tops. There is a slight possibility that you will have to come back at some point and select the credits mini game (this is the man holding the Double Fine logo). Do it if the achievement does not pop out.
Another way to do this is by selecting games from the Stage Area. Keep backing out once the stage has loaded until you have gone through each game.
Both methods are good for completing this achievement but I would recommend you to use the first one. There are other achievements that wait for your actions and I am pretty sure you would like to complete them too. But, there is always a possibility to come back and play the game one more time.
Shutterbug (20)
You filled up the camera roll!
Take your controller and start shooting pictures by pressing the “X” button. Keep shooting until you get the pop up message saying that the Camera Roll is full and you have no place to store your photos anymore and that your old pictures can be replaces by the new ones. Confirm the replacement and Shutterbug achievement with 20 points will become yours.
We Were So Young (20)
You watched a photo recap!
In order to complete this achievement you will have to pose in front of your camera. Again! Keep taking pictures and after every 4[SUP]th[/SUP] photo of yours you'll get a photo recap after you finish your current channel (mini game). You can use your controller to take pictures by pressing the “X” button or you can use the voice commands like “Hey television” and “Take my picture”. Also, the four pictures can be across the channel or all in one – it won’t matter. When the recap is done – you will get what you came for.
Fowl Ball (20)
You watched Fowl Ball!
In order to unlock this achievement you will have to play in “Director Mode.” To access the “Director Mode,” go to “Back Stage” area and choose “Director.” But usually when the game loads up, you will appear in “Director’s Mode” automatically. Now, progress through the game and after about every 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] of 4[SUP]th[/SUP] mini game in “Director’s Mode”, you will encounter “Double Fine Shorts”. They are just short comedic clips which they have conveniently inserted your live video image in. There is a plenty of those and from time to time you can expect them to appear randomly. Now, as for the clip itself [SPOILER ALERT]: the clip you are looking for includes a bowling alley where instead of a bowling ball you will see a turkey (don’t ask me why – I do not know either) rolling down the lane towards you and other players. The best part is – you are a pin now (so are your friends). You do not have to do anything – just enjoy the video and after the clip is over and the next mini game is loading up, you will get a notification message telling you that the “Fowl Ball” is now yours.
If for any reason you need to speed up the process of getting this achievement, start “Director’s Cut” and push the “RB” button to skip to the NEXT mini game. After the 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] or the 4[SUP]th[/SUP] one, you should get a “Double Fine Short”. Watch the clip offered. If it is not what you are looking for, use the “RB” button again, until you get the correct “Double Fine Short”.
Enter Your Initials (20)
You defeated every enemy in Hyperspace!
You can come to this channel with the game progress or you can scroll through the mini games and pick the channel with the guy holding a pink laser cube. When the mission starts, eliminate all the enemies and you will get the achievement. But, for some reasons there were a few enemies left though I still managed to unlock the achievement.
Way of the Fist (20)
You broke every object in the bonus round!
Start the game and the very first mini game you are put in will be a dojo setting with the planks of woods. Show your karate skills and break the woods. While your progress though the mini game, some other objects will come out from the side of the screen randomly. Break them too, of course. If you play nice, you are supposed to get the bonus mission. The main idea of a bonus level is the same – breaking objects but this time you will have to do things faster. It may sound silly but waving your arms up and down in a flapping or jumping jack motion will help you to get the achievement pretty fast. Plus, exercising is good for your health.
Dragon's Breath (20)
You breathed fire!
Luckily – you do not have to breathe fire in a real life to get this achievement. This can be unlocked on the “Kingdom” or "Random Wearing of Outfits" levels. When playing “Kingdom,” build a castle. When you’re done, you will be offered to play as a Dragon and dragons can breathe fire. Now, do what you have to do and unlock the achievement.
You can also get the Dragon's breath by choosing the channel with the pirate head. When the dragon head appears, choose it and shout. The fire will come out and you will get the achievement.
I'm a Little Teacup (20)
You created the teacup constellation!
This is an easy one: become a transformer and turn into a Teacup. Put one fist on your hip, elbow out (making the handle) and then put the other on up like you’re showing off your bicep muscle but move your hand out away from our body – like a snake. This will be the spout. Stand for a couple of seconds in this position and you will get the achievement. Though, there is one thing you need to remember: you need to use your left arm as the handle and the right one as the spout. Otherwise it won’t work. Check the image below to see how you are supposed to look like.
Special Order! (20)
You prepared extra awful popcorn for the scoop!
Story related and can’t be missed. You will unlock this in the channel with the guy holding popcorn. Keep hitting the kernels and then butter and salt will appear. Now wait until a bag appears. Keep flailing your arms and 20G achievement points will become yours.
Abracadabra (20)
You cast fairy magic!
Choose the man holding the fairy wand from the stage area to enter this mini game. Now, you are a very small fairy flying across the screen with these small white orbs floating around. If you see something else – this is not the mini game required. If this is THE channel, just keep flying around until a pair of wings floats down. Move closer to them and become a Giant Fairy. Wait a bit more until a fairy wand floats down. Thrust your arm until a blue spell comes out of the wand. Congratulations – the achievement is yours.
ARRRRRRR! (20)
You found a treasure chest filled with gold!
In a sandy area you will have to find a treasure chest filled with gold. It is buried in the sand and your task is to get it out. You can either wave with your hand imitating digging or you can just walk around. Hurry up because if the tide reaches the coast earlier than you can find the chest, you will lose. But this can probably happen only if you do nothing. Dig and become rich!
What Are The Odds? (20)
You got struck by lightning twice!
Get into the Stage Area and pick the “Umbrella” mini game. If you are not sure about the stage, pick the one with a Man holding an umbrella. Really hard to miss! If you can see red mushrooms growing on the floor and rain falling down – this is the place. From time to time a dark cloud with an electric charge will appear. When it does – stand right underneath it and wait until the lightning bolt comes out and shocks you. Your body will turn into a skeleton and that is how you know that you’ve been hit. Do it one more time and the “What Are The Odds?” achievement will become yours.
It's ALIVE!!! (20)
You powered up the Tesla Device while shooting lightning!
As all the other missions, you can select this one in the Stage Area. If you are not sure what kind of mission it is, pick the one where the man is holding a box with two antennas. It also has a few dials. If you see a “Tesla” device on your back and some things lying on the floor, it means that you’ve came to the right place. If you see something else – get back and keep looking. Interact with a few things on the screen. You will hear a loud noise and lightning fire coming out from your hands.
Outfoxed (20)
You caught the desert fox!
As all the other missions, you can select this one in the Stage Area. If you are not sure what kind of mission it is, look for one with the guy holding a piece of land with a cactus on it and blue blocks passing. Find a fox and catch it with your hands. Make sure that you have a clear background without any chairs, couches or whatever. This will help you to fully register the Kinect and touch the ground without any problems.
Crowd Funding (20)
You got at least 2 players to throw money!
Invite a friend over or ask a family member to help you out. This time chairs and vacuums won’t work. From the Stage Area menu pick the “Costume party” mini game. You can do it either way:
- say “Hey Television”, “Let Me Choose” and then “Costume Party” or;
- choose the mini game manually and this will remove the timer which is nice.
When you start the mission, you will see clouds floating above your head. Those clouds contain different items. Look for a cloud that contains dollar bills and once you see one – you or your friend will have to swing your arm and pop the cloud. Now, either you or the other player (the one who has a stack of dollar bills attached to his hand) stand still and do not move. Otherwise you risk to replace the dollar bill with something else. The person without money has to look after another cloud with money. Once it appears, wave your hand and grab the cash. When both of you appear standing with hands full of dollars, this achievement will pop up.
