Below you will find Left for Dead 2 cheats. Cheats typically create an advantage beyond normal gameplay, usually to make the game easier.
Left 4 Dead 2 Unlockables/Cheats
Avatar Awards
Successfully complete the tasks indicated below to unlock the corresponding Avatar Awards:
Bull Shifters Shirt: Win ten games of Versus.
Depeche Mode Shirt: Rescue Gnome Chompski from the Dark Carnival.
Left 4 Dead 2 Shirt: Win ten games of Scavenge.
Med Kit: Successfully complete all five campaigns.
Zombie Hand Shirt: Kill 10,000 Infected.
Quick healing
Give yourself an adrenaline shot, then use your medikit to heal. This will take a shorter time, especially when you are facing a horde.
Surviving large hordes
Go to a corner, and equip a melee weapon. Hold RB as you aim at the approaching zombies. Note: You may get hit a few times.
"Eat Your Brains" song in Swamp Fever: Plank Country
There is a jukebox in the bar in the abandoned town. Find it, and play it to hear "Eat Your Brains" by Jonathan Coulton.
Portal reference
In The Parish: The Park, once you reach the bar with the jukebox inside, skip through the songs until you eventually hear the song "I'm Still Alive" from Portal.
Defeating special Infected
Apply the tactics below to kill special Infected:
Boomer: Stay as far back as possible and shoot at the stomach.
Charger: Get close to it to prevent it from charging. It can now only inflict melee damage, and you can kill it easily with any weapon (melee or gun).
Hunter: When it is in its pouncing position, nudge it away using a shotgun, then shoot it in the face. Alternately, while it is jumping at you, use the shove move to force it to stumble back, so that it doesn’t land on you.
Jockey: Huddle together with your teammates, and wait for the Jockey to appear then all of you should shoot it at the same time. Huddling together will ensure it doesn’t launch an attack at you. Alternately, while it is jumping at you, use the shove move to force it to stumble back, so that it doesn’t land on you.
Smoker: Get close to it to prevent it from grabbing you with its tongue. It can only do this while you are at a distance. Get directly in front of it in order to kill it.
Spitter: Jump out of the way when it spits and shoot it in the head.
Tank: Go to high ground, and keep shooting at it while dodging it. In Co-op mode, use a grenade launcher to attack it from the front while your teammates fire at its back with shotguns.
Easy "A Spittle Help From My Friends" achievement
Start a versus match with friends. choose the Spitter, and have a friend as the Smoker. Have your friend start choking a survivor with the Smoker, then use the Spitter to spit on the survivor while the Smoker is choking them to get the "A Spittle Help From My Friends" achievement.
Easy "Back In The Saddle" achievement
Play against a friend. Jump on the back of a bot as the Jockey, and have your friend melee you off. Run away to recover. Then, jump on a survivor's back to get the "Back In The Saddle" achievement.
Easy "Dismemberment Plan" achievement
In Dead Center: The Atrium Finale in Survival mode, kill the bots to prevent them from stealing your kills. Next, grab the grenade launcher and a bile bomb. Once the horde starts, throw the bile bomb, and wait for a large group of them to gather around it then, fire the grenade launcher at them. You should get the "Dismemberment Plan" achievement.
Easy "Guardin' Gnome" achievement
In Dark Carnival: The Fairgrounds, go to the shooting range. Score over 500 points and a garden gnome will appear. Carry the gnome to the end of the level, and board the chopper with it at the end of Dark Carnival: The Concert to get the "Guardin' Gnome" achievement.
Easy "Robbed Zombie" achievement
In Dead Center: The Streets, go to the "Save 4 Less" store where you have to get the cola. Kill all the CEDA agents you find on your way, and collect the vials of Boomer vomit they drop (not all CEDA agents will drop Boomer vomit). If you still need more vials of Boomer vomit after you reach the store, just set off the alarm, and hordes will keep coming with random CEDA agents.
Easy "Rode Hard" achievement
Start a versus match with friends. Play as the Jockey, and have a friend as the Spitter. Then, jump onto a survivor as the Jockey, and steer them into the Spitter's acid to get the "Rode Hard" achievement.
Easy "Shock Jock" achievement
In Dead Center: The Atrium Finale in Survival mode, have a human survivor climb to the top of the stairs, and jump off so that they die. Next, use the defibrillator to revive them. Restart the level again, and repeat this until you get the "Shock Jock" achievement.
Easy "Violence In Silence" achievement
In The Parish: The Cemetery, at the impound lot area with all the cars, use a melee weapon to kill the Infected. The computer players will not set off an alarm. All the red cars have car alarms, so ensure you keep to the white cars. If you manage to make it past the area with all the cars and reach the safe house without setting off an alarm, you will get the "Violence In Silence" achievement.
Easy "Wing And A Prayer" achievement
To perform this trick, you need the three other players to be bots. Before the alarm goes off, clear all explosive items and do not use incendiary ammo. Then, crouch in the corner near the exit to the plane so the Infected cannot attack you from behind or the sides. Once the alarm is sounded and the horde start attacking, block the entrance by throwing a Molotov. After that, the computer players will stand in front of you and take the damage. Just remain in the same position the whole time, and you will get the "Wing And A Prayer" achievement.
