Xbox One Left 4 Dead 3?!? any news?

Hello all,

Left 4 Dead is perhaps my favorite coop game ever! It would seem that Valve is allergic to the number "3," but I though I would ask if anyone here has heard any news on the release of the next episode in the amazing L4D series. I seriously cannot wait for this release!!

I'm with ya man! I met the majority of my XBL friends from playing the first two. Left 4 Dead 2 is one of VERY few games I've actually 100% completed. I've heard rumblings on the internet about the third one, but nothing concrete.

I agree. This is one of the games that I have completed as well. This will be a hit if they are planning on releasing the 3rd version of the game. But I'll try and get Dead Rising 3 or Dying Light instead once it's out.

Hmmm... no news yet. Well, there were some hints about it a few months ago, where some references to the game and some "secret" files obtained from Valve showed hints to Left 4 Dead 3. But other than that, nothing else. But yeah, would love some Left 4 Dead 3.

No news I'm afraid. But who knows? We might see some news. If those hints at Valve are to be believed, then there's definitely going to be some awesome stuff to be revealed about this unannounced game. Oh yeah, Left 4 Dead 3 on Xbox One? Booyah.

Nope, no news yet. I only knew of these teasers and "hints" of L4D3 from Valve's headquarters. I laughed when some hackers retrieved email files having some reference to Left 4 Dead 3 and some, I'm not sure, rooms or something that have L4D3 or something references as well. But no news so far. But yeah, would love to see some Left 4 Dead 3 love!

I find that funny. I think they wanted to raise the awareness Valve was making something in secret right? Or they just wanted to make some hype so Valve can say something. Hahaha.

It's a possibility, but with Valve concentrating on the Steam Box and the Steam controller AND the Steam OS, it's unlikely that it will be coming soon. One thing that could happen, is Valve could make Left For Dead 3 a Steam/Steam Box exclusive to encourage people to buy their new console.

I agree with that. That can be a possibility. Suddenly, Steam holding to exclusives that even PS4 and Xbox One can't grab? That'll put out a message that Steam is striving for a piece of the pie as well. I'd love to see that.

Ohohohohoho. That would be something. Valve is one secretive company. They're never the one to let out any info. Despite all the rumors of the inevitable HL3 and L4D3, Valve hasn't let out any official info to confirm. But really, if they put out those former two as Steam/Steam Box exclusives, it's going to wreck havoc on Earth!!

Hahahahahahaha! That's going to change EVERYTHING. Steam Box exclusive will be dropping a ball on Sony and Microsoft. I'll be hearing fanboys go nuts and demand Valve to stop being involved inthe world of consoles XD hahaha

That's a possibility. It could change everything, if L4D3 becomes exclusive to the PC via Steam/Steam Box. It's going to be mammoth if that ever happens. Let's just wait for Valve to say something

You guys are really crazy huh? Hahahaha. Anywho, I think we'll eventually see the announcement. There's no way Valve will avoid this for a while. They'll have to announce the sequels, one way or another. And besides, considering that Steam Box is essentially a PC pre-built, they'll know that they have the cater to the already-established PC crowd.

Well, all we can do for now is hope and pray Valve will announce it. I don't care if it's Steam Box-exclusive, as long as there's a new place to crash and new characters to play with and new enemies to wreck havoc, I'm all in!

I'm just wondering what L4D3 will be like. Will it be in Europe? Will it combine the protagonists of the first two games? Will it show us Valve's new Source engine? Will I be right or will I be wrong? Either way, it's inevitable: it will happen. We're just going to see how Valve will do it. Just give me some new places!

Good luck! It is Valve after all. I think with all the changes coming to steam and all the work they're putting into the SteamBox that Left 4 Dead has as much chance coming out as Half Life 3

I think it'll come out before Half-Life 3. There's a chance it'll come out sooner. After all, with the Steam Workshop working really for no. 2, it won't be long before we get 3. Now, we just need to know: who are the next unlucky 4 survivors? This is going to be awesome~!

I'm curious what kind of stuff they can put in the mods for a Left 4 Dead 3. Steam Workshop already puts so much life into Left 4 Dead 2 (like the Velociraptor mod, where the survivors become... velociraptors. Complete with fully modded hand animation!). They even have a Lollipop Chainsaw in it too!

I guess they'll combine both Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 like what diamondback8 said and maybe throw in some new zombies. I hope they can upgrade the hunter zombie that way it'll be a lot more exciting to play. Like maybe make him silent. It's not exciting if you can identify that he's there with his voice right?
