Xbox 360 Lords of Shadow DLC

I beat the Lords of Shadow game a few months ago, but I never downloaded any of the DLC for it, because at the time, the DLC was almost as expensive as the game itself. Now that we have Lord of Shadow 2 to look forward to, I'm wondering if I need to play the DLC to understand what's going on in the 2nd game, or if Lords of Shadow 2 picks up where the first Lords of Shadow left off?

Well, I think Lords of Shadow 2 will pick up where the first Lords of Shadow left off - assuming you watched the cut scene that played after the credits rolled, showing Gabriel as Dracula. It wouldn't hurt to play the DLC though.
