Released on February 12, 20088 and developed by Mistwalker, Lost Odyssey puts you in control of Kaim, an immortal over 1000 years old who doesn’t remember his past. Throughout the journey a handful of characters will join the party, some additional immortals and a handful of mortals. With a story written by a renowned Japanese novelist and a musical score written by the amazing Nobuo Uematsu, the story spans decades and allows you to make decisions that will affect the outcome of events for years to come. Blending MMORPG elements with traditional RPG elements, you will experience a grand tale on a massive scale.
The achievements for Lost Odyssey are not overly difficult, but expect to spend more than 80 hours attempting to collect them all. There are a total of 36 achievements in Lost Odyssey worth a total of 1000 gamer points. Four of these achievements are obtained by simply playing through the game. Treasure Hunter can be a pain, but if you follow the guide you will save yourself a lot of trouble. Spell Collector is the only one that is missable, so check the guide before starting to save yourself some trouble.
You can find a guide for Lost Odyssey’s DLC: Seeker of the Deep here.
Playthrough Guide
Lost Odyssey only requires one playthrough to get all of the achievements. The game is fairly difficulty to get 100% of the achievements, but it is doable. The challenge comes from two aspects: difficult bosses and collection quests. The only thing in the entire game that is missable is Spell Collector, which can only be missed if you fail to pick up two specific spells: Shieldus and Barricadus. These are purchased from either Damiroh’s Grab Bag in Experimental Staff or Kessle’s Tool Shop in Gohtza, Middle Town. Everything else can be done at any point in the game.

There are a total of 165 skills in the game, and you will need to get Sarah to learn them all. Some are learned from mortals, others from accessories. You will need to collect all 99 seeds to get an accessory from pipot to learn one of the skills. You can find a guide to the 99 seeds here. Once you’ve learned all 165 skills on Sarah the achievement is yours.

There are only two spells in the game that are missable: Shieldus and Barricadus. Both of these spells can be picked up in either Damiroh’s Grab Bag in Experimental Staff or Kessle’s Tool Shop in Gohtza, Middle Town. Make sure that you pick up both spells in one of those locations!
The remaining spells can be obtained at any time during the game. The following checklist will help you track the one’s you’ve obtained (making it easier to know what you still need). For detailed information on the location of each spell you can view this guide.

There are 96 total spells, 32 each of White, Black, and Spirit Magic. Once you’ve collected all 96 spells the achievement is yours.
Defeated Cave Worm (10G)
You defeated Cave Worm at the Forgotten Cave.
The Cave Worm is found on disc 4 after obtaining the White Boa. Head north on the world map near the Gohtzan continent, then ram the ice covering a small opening along the lining of the continent to reveal a cave. Enter the cave to find the Cave Worm inside. I suggest being at least level 50 before attempting this boss and load up on as many anti-ailment skills as you can. Once you’ve defeated the Cave Worm the achievement is yours.
Defeated Persona (10G)
You defeated Persona at the Old Sorceress’ Mansion.
The Persona is found on disc four. After upgrading the Nautilus and gain access to Numara again, head to the Old Soeceress’ Mansion. Go to the old room underground where you originally fought a possessed Sarah. I suggest being at least level 45 before attempting the boss. Once you’ve defeated the Persona the achievement is yours.
Defeated Holy Beast (10G)
You defeated Holy Beast at Numara Atoll.
The Holy Beast is found on disc 4 after obtaining the White Boa. Go to the Guest Area of the White Boa and into the Queen’s Room at the end of the floor. Speak with Ming, then press A to interact with the Harp in front of her. If Ming isn’t present, visit Numara Atoll first and then return. I suggest being at least level 45 or 50 before attempting the boss. Once you’ve defeated the Holy Beast the achievement is yours.
Defeated Blue Dragon (10G)
You defeated Blue Dragon at the Snowfields of the Northernmost Land.
The Blue Dragon is found on disc 4 after obtaining the White Boa. Head to the northwest area of the world map. On the eastern edge of that section you will find an ice covering that you can ram with the White Boa to get into the snowfields. The snowfields area is actually a puzzle, and the trick is to go the area that the magical sparks are coming FROM, not where they are going TO. Once you’ve found the source of the sparks a few times you’ll encounter the Blue Dragon. I suggest being at least level 45 before attempting the boss. Once you’ve defeated the Blue Dragon the achievement is yours.
Defeated King Kelolon (10G)
You defeated King Kelolon at Kelolon Village.
Kelolon Village can be accessed once you obtain the White Boa. In the northern part of the world map, between the Snowfields where you faced the Blue Dragon and the Forgotten Cave where you faced the Cave Worm, you will find another ice covering that you can ram to gain access to an inlet. Once inside, launch and use the Nautilis to drive. Go to the south of the inlet and enter the underwater passage. After going through the underwater passage resurface and enter Kelolon Village.I suggest being at least level 45 before attempting this. You will need to fight through a couple battles using Cooke alone. After completing the solo Cooke battles you’ll want to save. The final battle is King Kelolon, and everyone joins in on the battle. Once you’ve defeated King Kelolon the achievement is yours.
Defeated Ghost of Eastern Ruins (10G)
You defeated the Ancient Spirit Magician Fu at the Temple of Enlightenment.
The Ancient Spirit Magician Fu is found on disc 4 after obtaining the White Boa. Go the south western part of the world map to find Eastern Tribe Island. Just below the Great Ancient Ruins you will see an ice covering that you can ram through with the White Boa. After breaking through, use the Nautilus and submerge before going through the passage. Once you resurface you’ll find the Temple of Enlightenment. I suggest being at least level 65 before attempting this boss. Once you’ve defeated the Ancient Spirit Magician Fu the achievement is yours.
Defeated Golden Knight (10G)
Deactivated all Royal Seals and defeated Golden Knight.
The Golden Knight is fought after deactivating all eight Royal Seals. This becomes much easier once you’ve obtained the White Boa since you will need to enter Kelolon Village. The location of the eight seals are:
- Uhra – back alley
- Gongora’s Mansion
- Ice Canyon
- Crimson Forest
- Great Ancient Ruins
- Kelolon Village
- Black Cave
- Burning Limestone Cave
The Golden Knight can be found in Uhra Castle on the top floor. I suggest being at least level 45 before attempting this boss. Once you’ve defeated the Golden Knight the achievement is yours.
Ring Assembler (30G)
Assembled a ring using Ring Assembly.
You can craft a Bruiser Ring right at the beginning of the game, before leaving in the car. Grab a whetstone out of one of the chests and follow the in-game tutorial to craft the ring. Once you’ve crafter the first ring the achievement is yours.
Middle Class Master (10G)
Met the secret requirement of the Backyard Middle Class battle set and won.
The Backyard can be found in Gohtza on disc 4. You can find it in the abandoned apartment, simply select “Backyard” from the menu after operating the elevator. You have to score all 3 stars per battle set for this achievement. The requirements for three stars are:
- Keep Kelolon Papa and Mama alive. Cast any Water spell on them to heal them.
- You must kill the Owl first.
- No one in your party should go down.
- Do not use items or magic, just melee attacks.
- Cast All-Flara/Flarus on the enemies.
Complete the Backyard Middle Class and the achievement is yours.
Heavy Class Master (10G)
Met the secret requirement of the Backyard Heavy Class battle set and won.
The Backyard can be found in Gohtza on disc 4. You can find it in the abandoned apartment, simply select “Backyard” from the menu after operating the elevator. You have to score all 3 stars per battle set for this achievement. The requirements for three stars are:
- You have to defeat their boss. Keep one Raptor alive and continue to allow it to call for help until the boss Raptor appears. Kill it.
- Front row party members should stay alive.
- Defeat 15 dolls first.
- Defeat the Kelolon Brigade Leader first.
- Do not use any Skills. Melee or magic is allowed.
Complete the Backyard Heavy Class and the achievement is yours.
Super Heavy Class Master (10G)
Met the secret requirement of the Backyard Super Heavy Class battle set and won.
The Backyard can be found in Gohtza on disc 4. You can find it in the abandoned apartment, simply select “Backyard” from the menu after operating the elevator. You have to score all 3 stars per battle set for this achievement. The requirements for three stars are:
- Keep everyone alive. Equip Anti-Poison and Absorb Fire on everyone for added advantage.
- Kill the dog using Poison rings, as this is the only way to take him down. You should achieve Perfects with your hits or the skill master will do more damage. Equip Persistence on Kaim for added advantage. He can be tough, so save first since you might have to try again.
- Hit the Moneys with fire spells or Fire-based melee attacks (or All-Flare spells). They only do coin tosses if they're hit with fire based spells or attacks, and they do not do it all the time too. You have to acquire 10 favorable coin tosses within 10 turns, and you need to defeat them within that period too. Patience and luck is required.
- Cast Gamble on the Silver Kelolon.
Complete the Backyard Super Heavy Class and the achievement is yours.
Champion (10G)
Met the secret requirement of the Backyard last challenger and won.
The Backyard can be found in Gohtza on disc 4. You can find it in the abandoned apartment, simply select “Backyard” from the menu after operating the elevator. This time around I suggest getting to level 99, as you’re going to have to fight the strongest boss in the game. You will need to defeat the Immortal in 29 turns or less. The battle is challenging, but if you’ve completed the other optional bosses and obtained most of the game’s skills. With some practice and patience you’ll be able to get through the fight. Once you’ve completed the last challenger in the Backyard the achievement is yours.
