Multiple Unreal Engine 4 titles coming late 2014, early 2015. The majority of games in development using Epic's 'next-gen' Unreal Engine 4 are new IPs.

So says Epic Games' EU territory manager Mike Gamble, who told Edge that the split between new IP versus established franchises among numerous current UE4 projects is "at least 50/50 - if not 70/30 in favour of new stuff". According to Gamble, many studios are leveraging their established brands to fund new ventures. "There's a lot of buffering," he said. "A lot of studios are doing a franchise iteration and a new IP."

"There haven't really been any announcements of the games still under wraps [that use UE4] - as soon as they start going live, then you'll see suddenly see that we're everywhere again," Gamble said, confirming announcements from Epic at GDC in March. "You'll be thoroughly sick of us."

It's a good time to be a gamer. The next 18 months are going to be full of announcements and releases many of us never even saw coming. It's definitely very exciting and E3 is sure to be worth al of our undivided attention this year. Here's hoping we here more information from other studios soon! What games do you guys want announced? Let us know in the comments.

Awesome. Finally, new IPs. Give it to me! It's good to hear they aren't sequels or rehases. IPs... that word is becoming an obsession to me now XD

It really feels great to be a gamer I'm excited to see what these IPs are. Finally, a year when sequels won't be announced much :-D

That a relief. Not seeing sequels of games we used to play would really be quite refreshing. After all we need something new once in a while.

I know right? I love sequels but man, it gets tiring when we're getting the same games over and over again. That's why I'm glad that with Steam around, there's always something new. And with UE4 games being new IPs, we can finally see the next-generation going.

I hope they can follow what the others have set for their games. Cool graphics, game play and storyline.

The game industry is starving for new IPs so this is good to hear.

The more new games and new titles that come around the better our choices will be in gaming.

The more the merrier. haha. Well now that there are lots of titles coming out I don't know what to get first. I'm totally confused and excited with all the good stuff coming out.

if it were food we would all be dead playing the waiting game. its been 4 months and only new game out is tombraider which is a rehash of 360 game.

even if its not new ip... we should have had at least 2 games released since launch at this point. they have had years and years knowing the next gen was comming.. and had dev kits...

and please dont get me started on titanfall.. the first new ip and 5 months after launch with as much hype as its gotten.. im actually bored of hearing and seeing it. i think microsoft purposely held off to have a "filler game" because aside from it what game are we getting in the next 3 months??? heck the next "anticipated" game isnt set to launch till 2015 now.. tom clancy devision.

i dont know what to think of it honestly. i love the xb1 but am seriously burned out of what is on the market. and yes we keep hearing promises of this and that.. and i am sure it will come.. but till than its blahh..

True, true. The more, the merrier indeed. But what I hope for? Actually releasing even half of these unannounced games. I'd hate it if they actually cancel some of these games. THAT would suck.

They can't just release a game when you have an itch for one,, there's still a business aspect. They weren't going to release new games prior to the start of a new fiscal year because they need to keep investors happy. They need to spread their sales so they can report profit evenly and not scare off backers. Not to mention launching a new IP too close to a new gen has historically been a bad idea. With that said February has a few releases with alot more scheduled for march. The list of games announced for sometime in 2014 is huge with more to surely be announced in the coming months and into June with E3.

im sure we are getting more.. but 4 months of a dry spell is well just ehh...im tired of whats on the market.. and im not paying for a used launch game.. most are games i don't really have much interest in anyway and feel very 360ish..

What shark_sc is describing is why I seriously think getting a console at launch is a bad idea. PS4 is very lacking too when it comes to games, perphaps even more lacking.

December to March have never been very busy, the exception has been recently with March seeing some bigger releases. It's definitely not as bad as people are making it seem. There's 3 new releases in February and two major ones in March. Is it as consistent as with the 9 year old consoles? No, but we would be foolish to expect that much.
