Below you will find Max Payne 3 cheats. Cheats typically create an advantage beyond normal gameplay, usually to make the game easier.
Max Payne 3 Cheats/Unlockables
Alternate costumes
If you successfully complete Story mode on Medium or higher difficulty, you will unlock 15 of Max’s costumes from the storyline.
"Character Select" option in Arcade mode
All you have to do is to successfully finish Story mode on Medium difficulty.
Classic/Old School Max Black and White
Earn a “Platinum” rank on all chapters while playing New York Minute mode.
Hardcore difficulty
Successfully finish Story mode on Hard difficulty.
Max Payne Advanced Character Model
Successfully finish Story mode on the Old School difficulty. This is a pixelated character model of Max Payne, based on the Game Boy Advance version.
New York Minute mode in Arcade mode
Successfully finish Story mode on any difficulty.
Old School difficulty
Successfully finish Story mode on Hard difficulty.
One Hit Kill
Successfully finish Story mode on Hardcore difficulty.
Unlimited Ammo
Collect all Golden Gun pieces in the game.
Unlimited BulletTime
Earn a "Gold" medal score on all levels in Arcade mode.

Golden Gun locations
Find all Golden Guns in the locations indicated:
Chapter 1:
Golden PT92- You will find the first near the window on the left side of the corridor immediately the tutorial is over. There is another one once you take the elevator down to the lobby, near the plants nest to the window on the right side of the hallway. The third one is in the second area of the garage. You will find it on the right side of the B01 parking space after you open the first gate.
Chapter 2:
Golden .38 Revolver-There are 3 of these in this chapter. The first one is in the starting area, behind the DJ’s desk. Once you clear the room, climb the desk and get it. You will get the second one when you walk past the club owner and through the doors then you take the stairs to the left. The third one comes after you have chased Fabiana on the roof. It is on the far side of a platform with a large red sign on it.
Golden Mini-30 - Find one behind the bar in the VIP area. The second is in a round room beyond the kitchen. To find the third, go down the stairs of the helipad once the chase resumes after the helicopter shootout. Take a right turn and enter a small room. You will find the gun on the floor near a white couch.
Chapter 3:
Golden M10 – You will find one on the floor of the recording room, near the camera. Another one is in the Trophy room, behind the VIP seats by the window.
Golden M2A1- The first one is in the souvenirs' room, by the stand. You will find the second one behind a corner on the left side of the tribune. You must retrieve it quickly before Passos runs out of ammo or else you will die.
Chapter 4:
Golden 1911- You will find one at the beginning of the chapter, in the bar. Clear the area, and find it behind the last couch. If you take the stairs near the pool table and reach the corridor, you will find another gun to the left.
Golden M500 –The first one is inside Max's apartment, near the table by the window. The second one is on the roof. Clear the area first and then turn right and continue till you reach a dead end. You will find it there.
Golden SAF 40 CAL- As are escaping the building, there is an apartment to the right by the stairs. Enter it and you will find the gun on the floor near the refrigerator. There is another one in the room to your left after you clear the garage.
Chapter 5:
Golden Micro 9MM - After leaving the second hangar, follow the dirt path to the right and you will find this gun on top of some crates. You will find another one near the fence around the hangar where Fabiana was tortured.
Golden LMG .30- Leave the garage and go through the courtyard into another building. You will find this gun in one of several containers found in the backroom of this building. If you clear the first area after crossing the docks and enter the gate, you will find a shack. Behind the barrels inside the shack is another gun of this type.
Chapter 6:
Golden MD-97L - Once you are in control of Max Payne, kill all the enemies around and then retrieve this gun from behind the desk. You will find another one by the waterfall after talking to Bronco (Rodrigo). The third gun of this type is in the lobby. You have to break the glass to retrieve it from behind the model stand.
Chapter 7:
Golden Sawn-Off –There is one in the bathroom of the Striptease. Get the second one after the QTE, when you are coming down as you fight enemies. You will find it behind a door to the left.
Golden SPAS-15 – The first one is behind some crates near a door on the other side of the hangar. The second one comes after you pass through the gate that triggers a cutscene. It is behind the iron platforms. Get the third behind the wall after you jump off the ledge.
Chapter 8:
Golden Auto 9MM –After meeting Passos in the cemetery, as you pass the stairs, you will find one in front of the crypts to your right side. Find another one after you escape the area where your grave was. Turn left and enter a small chamber in the building. You will find it on the floor.
Golden 608 Bull- It is on the right side of the highest Mausoleum. First kill the enemies near the car before you retrieve it. The second one is by the Sarcophagus, and you can retrieve it after killing all the enemies around the tomb and saving Passos. Find the third on the floor under the priest’s desk after the cutscene in the church.
Chapter 9:
Golden DE .50 –After the second cutscene, you will meet some paramilitary units that you have to kill. After that, go down the stairs and turn left. You will find this weapon at the entrance of a house whose second floor has been destroyed. You will get the second one after you cross the balcony and reach the other side of the street. There is a hidden area in front of a wooden bridge, and if you enter through the gate to the left, you will find the weapon on the ground.
Golden M972 –In the building where Max walks slowly, you will meet a woman who will run away from you. Look into the bathroom to find this weapon. For the second weapon, cross the house with green carpet at the door and continue till you reach a dead end. It will be on the ground to your left.
Chapter 10:
Golden FAL - At the beginning of the chapter, kill the snipers on the roof first, and then go find it next to a bus without a roof, to the right of the junkyard. There is another one on the ground floor. Kill the paramilitary guy and check the office he came from. The gun is behind the desk.
Golden M4 Super 90- There is one inside the cabin in the garage. For the second one, leave the paint booth after saving Giovanna, avoid the stairs, and find it on the workbench.
Chapter 11:
Golden Super Sport –Go through the restaurant and kitchen into the backroom and you will find this weapon on the floor. You will find another one after you clear the first deck. Follow the dead end to the right and it will be on the floor.
Golden AK-47 –Once you reach the upper bridge and cross the bar, do not go upstairs. Instead, look for a hidden safe behind the painting to your left. Take the weapon out of the safe and then head straight towards the dock. There is another one in the docks area. Enter, turn left and kill the tower enemies. You can then retrieve it from the corner by the entrance.
Chapter 12:
Golden RPG –There is one in the bathroom on the second floor of the destroyed building. While still on the second floor, in the hallway, enter the first room on the right and you will find it another one next to the destroyed wall.
Golden FMP G3S - During the firefights on the second floor of the building, there will be one behind a crate in the hallway. The second one is in the starting area of the third floor. Kill the enemies there and then find the gun behind the desk to the right of the room.
Chapter 13:
Golden MPK –Once you escape the starting area, go through the corridor until you reach the prison. Turn left and you will find this weapon on a small shelf. There is another one inside the showering area of the training room. For the third gun, cross the hallway into the conference room, and search for it in the area to your right.
Golden Law –Turn right after entering the prison and you will find this weapon on the ground. For the second gun, re-enter the police station after you have killed the cops and destroyed the armored vehicle. You will find it behind a trash container to the left of the entrance.
Golden G6 Commando – Exit the building and kill the cops then turn right. You will come upon a small wall and behind it, you will find this gun. There is another one under the serving desk of the kitchen in the next area.
Chapter 14:
Golden Rotary Grenade Launcher –Once you clear the first area, you will find this gun on the platform of the luggage holder. For the second gun, take the stairs up to the next floor and then turn right. You will find it behind the platforms. The third one is in the showering area of the bathroom.
Golden RPD –Find one on the second floor, at the end of the balcony to the left of the terminals’ area. For the second one, you will find it behind a small desk near the exit on the left side of the ground floor. For the third one, wait for the train to stop then find it on the floor at the back of the train.
